Sand is a pain in the ass you will never get a nice bend will still flatten out a little and you will struggle to get more then 35 degrees with out pipe damage. Buy round donuts can get any angle you want then or a proper bender one that rolles the pipe not crushes and hope it turns out for the best im not trying to be a rude basted I'm just telling you my experiences

Hey Blake what I the best way to cut them donuts up ?

Pedestal jig saw or something like that ?

Bought a TIG, a tube folder (wanna be bender) going to build a roll cage.

Have a go, I love it........

44mm tube is cheap at bunnings, can use galvanized fencing, it's thinner and lighter than the stuff in the steel isle.

If you want to have a go I have a proper mandrel bender your welcome to try.

hi risking i was in fact going to go for cdw 44mm tube

i have had a lift tig for a while now

and my mate has always bugged me to make a cage for him its a ae86 with no more that 140kw that he uses for drifting ( no cams )

i am aware that the ( tube folder i have ) is TERRIBLE. but there was only 1 way to find out there terrible and that was to give it a go.

I'm now going to go with get brown Davis to make me the main hoop and i will build from there

Hmm and for the pun about me going to do it with gal..

I don't think anyone on this part of the forum would be that stupid

that is a stupid insult

and thanks heaps for the advise BSA you are right on the dollar

anything over 35o is somewhat unachievable 2011-11-15190505.jpg

I usually use I angle grinder with a alloy cutting disk or just a 1 mm cutting disk then tig a bead on the end. It can be hard to cut straight but just takes practice can always grind it straight. A chain cuter would be the best I think only done it a few times but makes life so easy. I'll be doing my cooler piping properly soon using stainless because it's more available to me not worried about weight

yeah i got a drop saw for doing the cuts. works out a treat

making a jig up atm so i can doe more drift pipes for mates

i really want to do more inter cooler piping though

iv already done everything for my cars and for a couple of mates

played with alloy abit more last night

i need to get better with it. 2nd time playing with alloy and i made this..... its pretty lol :P

Can't use a drop saw to cut donuts works on everything else but. A side note make sure you have a dedicated disk to stainless and alloy don't cut mild steel then cut alloy or stainless with the same disk it will contaminate the metal then rust or be a bitch to weld

I usually have them all seprate on diff hooks saves a world of trouble. I have a perfect example I was making a forward facing plenum for my 20 and I cut it out using a 1 mm disk acidently put one I used for steel then when I went to weld it had all sorts of trouble with inclusions had to back grind everything wasn't happy tho so I tossed it. Now all disks are kept separate and tidy. Also you may find it easier to weld alloy of you wipe it down with thinners, cleans the surface much better

More Practice :)

All the mates are Rapped Sept for the one that now has a defect

so it turns out i have one set of pipes spare :P

Tomorrow going to make in intake for my turbo builder Then onto making piping for the 180sx :)

do they have baffles inside or are they just straight pipe?

they look good, only thing I can thing of, purely from a performance perspective is to not have such a sharp angle where it splits into 2 pipes, but really not going to affect anything unless you have heap and heaps of power

Yeah mate Sure could do them in 3 1/2 or 4 inch in i reckon if you got a 4 inch zorst you should go for 2x 3.5 inch outlet 4 inch inlet

heres the pic of the inside aswell

    • Yes. You will need to get the original boost sensor and wire it in. That is.... if you plan to use a stock ECU - even a Nistuned ECU. The Nissan ECU will not operate correctly without it connected. And yes, it will do annoying stuff like you are experiencing. You will almost certainly be better off with some aftermarket ECU, than trying to hunt down rare sensors.
    • Ok so ABS/TCS is "not" the problem. Yeah i know now about the ABS with Nistune(i told that to the Nistune guy) but iam not 100% why or why i dont have ABS. ABS cube is in the engine (always has been) but i had braked couple of times rly hard and brakes just locked and scream. Does all Skylines have ABS cube? That boost sensor https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/367633-wtb-r34-gtt-turbo-pressure-sensor-pics-inside/ Is this it? I need to ask but i have a picture of engine bay and i do not see that (100% is not in that place) If i do not have this the car can do what mine is?(cutting around 4000 rpm) Here is the pic of my engine bay(only one i have) BUT i think i dont have that cuz loom was used from my RB20DE NEO and i know (obviously) that it does not have boost control or any wire to that...) so maybe that is the problem? (i dont know for 100% if that car where the engine is from had that)...but i dont have the loom from that
    • I'm with you here. It's either loom has an issue, OR, injectors are not functioning properly. It could even be they're just constantly dribbling, hence the wet, but not firing.
    • Depending on how long the car sat it is very possible for injectors to be stuck open or closed, I'd get them cleaned and flow tested. Other than that, obviously when the loom changes and the car doesn't start any more....the loom is suspect so some tracing / comparing may be required
    • Harness is for a s1 Rb25det, and it is engine and lower harness.  the old harness had broken off plugs and was in very rough condition/exposed wires and splices etc. it is not able to be put back on the car, I could visually inspect to see if they had rewired any pins on the ecu plug. The fuel pump definitly isn’t turning off it’s an external pump and very loud you can hear it. Will look at the other harness tonight, am also going to pull the fuel rail and watch the injectors spray, will update here with what I find. Pretty sure at this point it has to be something to do with injectors because car will fire up on starting fluid and cas is clicking the Injectors. Fuel pressure is steady 43psi
