hi guys

i bought a Z32 AFM off of a user on here some time ago (who i wont mention... yet). ive had it sitting here for some time and on the weekend i decided that it was time to put it in. i did some reading and came across paulr33's website (scroll down to bottom)

http://www.paulr33.c...nfo/snipit.html

i read it and thought nothing else of it.

i bought all my electrical tools home from work today and i was taking photos on how to connect the Z32's plug into the r33's stock wiring harness whilst keeping the original plug connected. i finished all the wiring and i opened the Z32 AFM and noticed this...

as you can see the mesh is also larger then the stock nissan AFM below

this got me thinking back to pauls website on wether or not i have a fake Z32 AFM... however the i did notice on paul's website "The main noticable differences are mangled mesh, crooked label and textured plastic vs smooth plastic casing". the one i have sitting here next to me has a smooth plastic casing.

so my question is... is this AFM a fake? im leaning towards that it is...

and for those who are interested in having both stock and Z32 plugs connected to the wiring harness...

Looks ok to me, though I can't see the detection component very well. Usually the fake ones have a very poor quality ceramic detection component, whereas the genuine ones will have an orange base with a neatly done thermistor in the middle and then the hot wire. Your detection component looks ok from what I can see, so I'd say it's genuine.
