I have a 25G Stagea that is virtually a S2 R33. The brakes are a PITA> Awhile back the ABS light came on and is still on. Then the hand (foot) brake would not disengage so it was disconnected. Car went OK and stopped OK. Now there is a constant buzzing coming from the ABS unit on the firewall. It even buzzes when you switch off and take the key out.

Has anyone got any clues?

Also have read that Drifters disconnect the ABS. Can this be done by just pulling the fuses in the engine compartment? And what effect will it have when driving normally?. I want to get it fixed properly but will have to drive from Tamborine to the Coast. Is that dangerous?

Hope you can help.

My opinion would be not to drive it til you can get it looked at. If you apply the brakes in an emergency situation, they may not work effectively or may fail completely. Your foot brake would not be the cause for any of the problems you are having, as it works via a cable that runs to the drum inside the rear discs and activates a pair of brake shoes. Either the ABS module is at fault or there could be problems with wheel speed signal to the module.

    • Thanks MBS206, i got that PDF but got abit overhelm with all the connections and tracing of wires. I wasn't expecting to plug the dash harness anywhere. i was just going to use my electronics jumper wires to plug into the right pins like ECU power, ecu ground, ignition trigger etc... I do have a few ratchet straps locking it down tight. Fire extinguisher ready and only a small amount of fuel at a time, enough to submerge the pump.
    • Thanks GTSBoy, i will do abit more digging. I am missing a blue relay near the ECU connector... so i will chase that up in the next few days as well
