Hi,

I'm 3/4 of the way through the removal of my rb20 from my 89 r32 gtst4, have gearbox out (rb20 awd box's same as r32 gtr box's??) and have gotten up to removing the front hub/axle (front right wheel off, I need to get the big central hub but off) but have hit a few snags.

1) does anyone know what size that nut is? Is it 36mm? (my sockets go up to 19.... Great

2) gear box is out, brake booster disconnected etc, can't stop the wheel rotating when I try to undo the big nut with an adj spanner + huge flat blade between wheel studs.

The nut seems to be corroded on and f*cking tight, help?

I'm now driving an extremely troubled Daihatsu charade so this is pretty urgent. :D

Cheers

I think it might be 27...

I was using a socket (imperial... Haha) and a penetrant and a 3 foot breaker bar and it was bending the jack pole in between the wheel studs (had it there to stop wheel spinning)

I'll have a go with a metric socket today ;)

If ur trying to get the drive shaft out u dont need to take hub off u undo the tierod end, the two nuts under the hub (thinks its the lower control arm) and the carster r od just the two bolts u dont have to the front bolts and get a plie bar and pop the caster rod off and u should be able to lift the hub up and the drive shaft Will just come out with it

    • Out of curiosity, how do you cover up the inspection hole? Surely it doesn't sit open like that, right? With grime and dirt coming in and oil going out?
    • Hi from Canada, Both of my calipers are starting to fail. My car is a 2005 M35 Stagea ARX and I can't seem to find any parts or any cross reference caliper that would fit my car. Is there a company or a similar caliper that would fit and I could replace the OEM one. Or if anyone knows where I can find a new OEM. Any help is very appreciated. Let me know!
    • Maf is a question mark but TPS  I have set at 0.47, the fact that I’m getting proper voltage range out of it with the key on leads me to believe it’s functioning properly. I’m getting proper voltages on basically everything. I still need to look up voltage ranges for z32 maf and test that
    • Honestly no not at all, but it’s a very basic tune, it’s stock injectors q45 tps and z32 maf. Other than that it’s a completely stock base map. The file is from nistune and from my understanding if it was tune related I would be able to unplug maf and tps and it would still start even if it was a really shitty start. I have tried starting it with coolant temp, maf, and tps unplugged none of those 3 togethor or individually changes anything
