R32 GTST with stock box and diff from what I can tell.

once I get to 40km/h, there is a vibration that starts that can be felt through the whole car.

it gets a little louder by 50km/h, kind of dissapears by 60-70 but is there as a loud hum..

By 100 and above, it is just a loud hum (similar to wheel bearing noise but doesn't change when you load up the left or right with bends in the road etc.)

It does it in gear and out of gear so I've ruled out anything frmo the gearbox forward.

How can I identify wether it is the shaft or diff or whatever else is between the back of the gearbox and the diff?

do you have a one piece tailshaft at all?

my brothers r33 has a one piece tailshaft and it vibrates like that, at highway speed you can actually feel the rearview mirror vibrating,

Also I would be getting this balanced again mine never did this if it runs true it shouldn't vibrate at all

it was another great job done by a shit workshop, :whistling:

would it cost much to balance? does it need removed from car or how do they do it?

I don't know how many pieces the tail shaft is..

whatever the stock R32 GTST one is I suppose.

So more than likely not diff then?

Anyone want to point me in the direction of a Brisbane tailshaft related workshop? lol

ummm not the one that did SilverS2's brothers original job obviously.

Balancing shouldn cost that much .

And yes it does need to be taken of the car to do so

They put it on a lathe and spin at x amount of Revs

And will spot weld weight where it needs it to balance it

Providing it has been built correctly and all the unis are on correctly

Take it to driveline specialist at springwood there may even be one at archer field ?

Any one that specialises in drivelines etc should be able to do a decent job

    • Pads for R32 GTS-t, R32 GT-R non V-Spec (Sumitomo), R33 GTS-t and R34 GT-t are all interchangeable. R34 GT uses a 2x piston caliper, hence it didn't fit.
    • Checked with amayama and nope, the full S2 manual set is not available anymore. Unsurprising, but still disappointing as the ? on availability gave a glimmer of hope.
    • I've heard the Tomei USA head gaskets are decent if you want to o-ring the heads but otherwise not recommended.
    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
