hi guys

well after driving my missus home at 1am last night and cruising back towards the city, there were 4 series 1-2 skylines on the 3 lanes. that was almost like a mini skyline cruise :) . but as we were approaching caufield railway underpass, we saw an accident (city outbound) where there was about 5-6cars stopped (dont know how many was involved) but one of them was a white skyline in the middle median 180degree turned around.

that was such a pitiful sight too see especially when a skyline is involved (and others alike).

well what i would like to say is that i use that road almost every night and have seen some major fatal accidents there. you simply cannot see anything until deep into the apex by when its too late to hit the brakes and thats not inlcuding other drivers and the concrete barrier and light poles.

not to say im a wuss or anything but please, if you do want you 30secs of rush and go dragging, avoid that section as it is very dangerous and if the barriers/poles dont catch you, the coppers will since they are there very often.

lastly, does the other liners go on here? you know who u are, there was 3 of us side by side on an empty stretch of road.

I saw it too, white R33 [looked like a SII] and the other car was a Red Civic up on the median strip next to it - it didnt surprise me, but I was *annoyed* for the rest of us that dont act like that. I didnt see much damage, lucky for them, but its only a matter of time if you ask me. High powered rear wheel drive cars + wet roads + inexperienced drivers or hoons don't mix!

2 other cars were pulled up in the left lane with hazards on - but still should not have been there - its basically a 24 hour clearway unofficially [no parking / standing]. One was an AE86 corolla and dont recall the other car but I guess they were cruising together...

A timely reminder to watch your speed in the wet!

To be fair, it is possible that they weren't going all that fast but I didnt see it happen so...?

is that the S bend? cos a few weeks ago a evo 5 hit the wall doing 100km, marks and paint is still on the wall coming back from the asian umm pool joint. that was a shame to see..

Yes, the S bend.

I don't get what is so hard about THAT S bend - I actually enjoy driving through it, always have, always will [careful when wet of course]. I don't actually understand why so many people have accidents there - I am guessing it is mainly "inexperienced driver" based. Good thing the cops are there then - usually a booze bus but often TOG cars too.

How can an Evo 5 stack if i can go around there at a *legal*cough* 70km/h ?

And i have a boat, and it has much more advanced handling than i?

That corner is great, but i agree you gotta know it... to some extent though. Why would you approach a corner fast if you didnt know it?

Stupidy comes to mind here heheh!

I aint had the car slide, had a fair bit of a squeal though at times, all within the limits of course.

    • Would be easier to just run the RB25DET gearbox, all you would need to do is have the tail shaft / prop shaft shortened. S15 uses the rear ABS diff sensor for the dash speedo, so you can skip using the gearbox speed sensor.
    • Was the failed sensor by any chance this one? Did it just fail or start pissing on itself? I ordered one too, for fuel pressure monitoring, and now I am hesitant to put it in, hehe. Where did you find a brand one?
    • You'd be insane, when a brand new 8HP is ~$4k, and all the work to put a 6 in would cost the same as an 8 and the 8 is a completely established swap. If you think that getting a cheap Falcon box is going to make it a cost effective exercise, then you're not accounting for the extra $10-15k that the task will consume.
    • any further information on this? also interested in putting a zf6 in behind a rb30!
    • They're all horrible. X-Trails have had a nasty sounding 4cyl since forever, no matter what engine family it came from. The CVTs only made that worse. Then the whole Renault thing only made every Nissan that was contaminated by them even worse again. The only fun I've had in a X-Trail was having it blown sideways across a frozen Minnesota highway at 90 mph trying to make it to the airport to get out of the frozen hellhole of Hoth. Nearly died. Was great fun.
