hey guys, just installed on my R34 quite an amount of LED's and I'd thought to share. Don't have a full build log for it since I wasn't too bothered taking hundreds of photos.

Bit of background on myself, I'm a PC modder and played with LED's, wiring etc and put my skills and experience with that into my car.

This is a full custom and properly done job with heatshrinks, cable ties etc. perhaps the best I've done with lights.

I was going to do a log, but wasn't too bothered after a few pics.

Now before anyone starts to flame me about being gay or homo or what not, I did this for visibility in the foot wells and not so visible areas during night. But it looks nice anyway and I like it.

Strips of white LED's, car charger plugs, switches.

Soldering one LED strip to test out.

Soldered wires to one of two toggle switches I picked up at JayCar.

Drilled holes to suit the switches in the cover under the steering wheel. Added carbon fibre missile switch for extra awesomeness.

Upgraded gear selector back lights. GUIZE THIS IS AUTO? Yes it is, and I like my auto.

Carbon Fibre Style missile switch.

Installed two LED's to center console/armrest.

48 LED strip in boot.

This mod costed me just under $100 sourcing all parts and what I already had.

LED strips: Local guy who sells it on eBay, PM me if you are interested.

Cigarette lighter plug, switches, missile switch cover, resistors: JayCar

Mines about tens times that but in blue , the seats look like they float in midair and rear seats as well

Looks like the car had a blue explosion of light but mine is on the door triiggers and capcitive touchless hidden switches to override so missle command isnt needed lol

Cost at least half of what you did , i had to put a few white leds to override in the roof for when i actually want to read something the blue is so intense lol

It looks mental you cant see any lights just a friggin blue glow , then all the dash lights and digital gauges are ripped apart flush mounted behind clear black out resin and blue led displays too , i'm doing a build video and photo write up

But won't post up till my new internet is up and running , the car is setup for shows - car audio

Looks good.

The amount of times I've been searching for something in the footwells with a phone screen as my only source of light.

Le sigh.

Something I also noticed.

It's an auto.

4 srs?

Yeah man, loving auto cause I drive around the city quite often. had my mate pay me out cause he's on manual so I took the m4 during peak hours and he cracked the shits haha.

hey mate, just wondering where you got the LED's for your dash? I got mine from jaycar but there's hot and cold spots. I've tried contacting 666DAN because I heard he's a good supplier for any LED, but he hasn't contacted me back. thanks!

lighting on the footwells look sick too!

Dan is the man for LED dash lights

He's on eblow as well ?

Funny he gets back to people fast as hell normally? Odd

Dan has great service !!! had one fail he sent me new ones the next day !!!

I found some other LED sources for dash lights but they cost 50 bucks Corncobs of nano smd leds ? Which might be better on r34

The rest of my smd leds are made in china spec but a 15 metre reel of waterproof cuttable ones was like 15 bucks free shipping

Wont beat that price local and quality is good too

wont work on dashlights but footwells etc it will

They must be soldered not crimped !!

The touchless switch to turn on anything is handmade , you can wave your hand close to the area and it switches without touching anything

Its adjustable so your not flicking stuff on and off by accident

I got them off ebay. I'm also getting slight cold spots on my RPM dial but not enough to fix it up. There's a guy in Chester Hill that sells shit loads of LED products that I can give you his details later tonight. He's got T5's for dashes so you could go there, test them out before you buy.

But flicking on and off requires a little bit of force, touchless switch would activate when you get too close anyway. Think automatic doors in shopping centres. they slide open when you walk past. now you don't quite want that do you :)

The place in the states , I'm sure would be no shadown spots my concern is being to bright !!

If anything , they don't sell nano smd lights here in oz , not that I can find

On series 2 r34 the cluster has a film that stops light and shadows it bad , ( mine is series 2 !!) but i swapped it for nismo cluster alll good now , could be a bit brighter in streetlights out on dark roads its fine

These switches dont work that way , your talking motion or heat detection

These detect the moisture resistance in your body produces Even if its only slight , they can be adjusted to the point of actually touching the spot or 40mm from it

Thru 25mm plexi .

They are expensive and not for the faint hearted to wire up .but can replace any switch in a car and since you cant see the switch unless you setup a led or outline they work for kill switches even better

My car is converted to push button start as well lol

To many toys haha

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
