Hey.. Just looking up coilovers, i'll probably go with the BC BR's for my R34 GTT but just wondering if anyone has heard anything about these Emotion coilovers - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/EMOTION-SUSPENSION-COILOVER-DAMPER-KIT-F-R-NISSAN-SKYLINE-R34-GTT-1998-2001-/120940699640?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c28a09ff8#ht_1310wt_922

Cheaper by $125 so i know i'd be best to go with the tried n true BC's but just thought i'd ask.... Mainly want coilovers to lower my car a few inches and also stiffen the suspension up for street use and the occasional track day. Cheers.

I'd been searching coilovers as I've just stuffed my rear ones in the GTT, could get them rebuilt but I think I'll just go to the BCs... The link shows they are from a warehouse type place which means tech support or warranty if anything goes wrong is probably limited, also doesn't mention if they are able to be rebuilt etc..... I would suggest sticking with the tried and tested product ;)

BR mate..... A few that have them said they are worth the extra $150 up from the entry level...... They are only $1299 delivered from what i can find, unless you've seen any cheaper?

Hey Chris,

Email Street to Track, for the BC BR coilovers they are $1165 delivered which is cheaper than any i have found in Aus :D

[email protected] or www.streettotrack.com

Hope that helps you!

Yep, BR's mate. You'd be crazy to get the V1's for the sake of $100.

And that price that Matt found, that's crazy stuff!

Yep was about to order at $1299 and then did a last minute google which led me to a Scooby forum and then onto Pauls website! SCORE!

Well I put $500 down on a laybuy for a set today, once the missus gets her tax i'll pay the rest... She's buying them for for coz i'm a top bloke hahaha... got em for 1250 trade.

I love them

Did you have other coilovers in the car prior? For a comparison? I've been running Teins and I was told they are similar.....

Ive ran coilovers in other cars, the gtr was upgraded from good old stock vspec suspension. And ill tell you on half dampening stiffness, these BC BR's are more comfortable.

I was also in my mates 32 with teins and far out they were stiff as f**k

Mine aren't too stiff, it's just the rears that shat themselves.... Really looking forward to these now.... Is there a recommended dampner setting? I read some are stiffer in the fronts?

You won't regret it man, the BC's have a really good range of dampner. On full soft they are really comfortable, bit stiffer than the old King springs that used to be on mine. On full hard they are rock solid, but not as hard as the Tein's wound all the way up.

I was told when setting mine up to have the dampner at the front a little bit harder, to compensate for the weight of the engine. So I usually have my fronts on about 22, rears on 15. I soften them up a bit when I go to the track.

How do you work out what spring height adjustments before you install them, or is it a matter or adjusting them in the car?

The way I did it was I had a basic idea of how much further I wanted to lower it when I installed them, then I set them to the same height as my old springs and then lowered them by how much I wanted. That was with everything out of the car. Then when I lowered it later I did it on the car. Takes about an hour or so to do on the car, so it's no big deal. Just getting all four corners the same can be a bit tedious.

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
