Hey guys, I've searched here, google and eBay looking for the black pipe/hose going from one cam cover to the other on an R34 RB25det. Happy to buy even a universal silicon hose piece but seem to find that either. Guess I'll try a bit harder but in the mean time does anyone have a source for these? Would heater hose be ok for now? (mines gone rockhard and split really bad)

Any hose store?? Theoretically heater hose 'should' be ok, as it's mostly air with just a bit of vapour. But really you should get some proper oil control hose. I get mine from Hoseco. Otherwise Enzed, Pirtek, etc. etc.

Just go in and ask for 5/8 oil control hose.

heater hose wont work as the vapours going out of the rocker covers are hot and the hose will crap itself, as the hose is shaped your best bet is to get one from nissan,or you COULD get one from hoseco but you may have to buy a metre of it unless they have some leftover off cuts

Heater hose will work as a temporary solution is what I meant.

You don't need to use the formed hose, you can rotate the breather to suit any hose. No point paying out the ass for pre-shaped hose. You can also buy half meters from Hoseco. At $18 a meter it's not too bad.

So is Siicon hose suitable for this? I can get the piece i need from Nizzbits for $35 delivered so I can use silicon and get it for 18 a meter like u said. Although I do like fitting genuine parts where I can.

go the genuine part if you can, the hose you can get from hoseco may or may not posses the heat resistance that you need. . .as a GUIDE i paid $18 for a breather (from rocker cover to rocker cover) hose for a R32 RB20DET from NISSAN. . .yes you can use heater hose as a very temp repair but why not fix it properly the first time?

It says it's for a RB20DET but those cam breather hoses look the same to me as RB25DET's as well (confirm the part # to be sure). http://www.kudosmotorsports.com/catalog/nissan-hose-blowby-genuine-nissan-skyline-r32-gtst-rb20det-p-581.html

whats wrong with heater hose? ive had it on my 34 for about 4 months now since i noticed the old one had split and i cant say ive seen any ill affects at all, ive taken it on and off half a dozen times since then as well, never had any troubles or noticed any wear or anything.

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
