Dumb question?

Guys im not the best car guy out there but here goes:

Just wandering what that guage to the right of my Tachometer does. The Picute of an oil can one. Its measured in kg/m^2.

Just wandering what the number means and where its good to be. I've noticed it moves up close to 8 when I accelerate and down to 4 when I'm still.
