Hey guys,

I used to have an r34 sedan which had an alpine r series system in it minus rear speakers and only running one amp.

It used to draw a fair bit of power and the headlights and dash would flash along to the music and bass.

Clearly I needed a better battery than that, but I don't know much about batteries.

I now have an r34 coupe gt-t and i have bought the second amp and matching rear speakers and plan to put this all into the car, but I want to upgrade the battery to something more suited.

I'm also looking to get a Maintenance Free Battery, i've had great experiences with AC Delco on that front and would hope to get one from them, but im open to anything.

Some suggestions on a battery choice and also some info on what to be looking out for as far as ratings or numbers are concerned, it doesn't hurt to know a bit more about things before rushing out and getting a battery.

Some suggestions about other things related, such as capacitors and such would also be helpful, I'm not sure if capacitors are there to pick up slack from the battery or to replace it completely just solely for the audio or if they are only there for when the battery fails.

Thanks Guys =)

Battery

Yellow top odessy 850cca or better

Change your battery terminals to normal size if theyre still little jap crap

add ground wire 4ga from alternator bracket to battery

update alternator charge wire to 4ga from fuse box to alternator

update battery main ground to 4 or 0 ga depending on amps drawn

update main power feed to car to 4ga

Capacitor =1farad per 1 thousdand watts near amps

What amps are they ? What ohm load is sub amp running at?

I'm having the audio install done by an audio place, i'm not sure what they'll run as far as ohms, i believe u can run them differently depending on situation or something like that?

They're MRX-M55 Mono Block & MRP-F600 4 channel amp

A 1.5 to 2 farad capacitor is fine

The battery will be fine unless your sitting parked blasting for a while then you need a different choice

Those amps will be best off running 0 ga wiring from battery

4 ga will be at the max current capacity and could overheat in this climate

155amps current draw max from both amps
