For those intending to enter the terms and conditions, as well as payment details are available at

http://www.autosalon.org/orderform.asp

If I have read it correctly the cost to enter as a club display is $50 each, but it will cost you more if you want to enter the DYNO CHALLENGE or SPL/ dB DRAG RACING CHALLENGE.

To enter as a club we must have at least 6 cars. (It may pay to have a few in backup as well)

As the club name is critical to how we are grouped it’s important we all use the same name, hence I suggest we use "Skylines Australia" and not abbreviate it to SAU. We will also need power, so if we will need to pay an extra $60.

PS Whats the chance of all enterants getting together to plan this. We can use my place if its OK with all of you. As time is running short, I would sugest we meet either this weekend or next weekend. What are your thoughts?

**** da police .... if we don't take our cars out at all, or sell them and buy falcodores instead, then they win. Yes getting defected sucks, but we can't not live our lives in fear. And as for the 'there will be a defect station here, here and here' .... just look at what DIDN'T happen at drift day (which was supposedly going to be defect city) - I only saw 1 copper all the way home - and he had pulled over a commondore :)

Yeah and if we don't protect ourselves, and get our cars defected, they are also winning. It's a win-win sito for those guys.

By avoiding getting defected, I'm just avoiding a lot of head ****s.

Anyway, I might enter still, just depends on the status of the skyline at the time

Excellent Paul :P We've got to have the GT-R represented under the SAU banner!

Having a 'Skylines Australia' display without the almighty GT-R would be a bit like drinking zero-alcohol beer

Edit: The only bummer is you wouldn't be able to do a dyno run on the Boost Worx dyno :)  Unless Shaun did the remove shaft option?

Here's the updated list of "potential" entrants:

Hi Guys

Just got the word that my car is unlikely to be out of the spray shop in time for the show. :-(

This means that there is room for another 4 door :-)

I am still happy to help organise/coordinate this if it’s needed (as I am the one who started this whole thing anyway)

If there is a need for those entering to get together and plan it (or just meet and go for a cruise and talk) my place is still available.

Remember to get your entries filled in soon as there is a late fee for those who register in the last week.

PM me if you have any further questions.

If someone wants to run with this (and help 4door) that would be great! If need be I'll do it, even though I'm a tad busy atm.

Damn it! I just realised that Autosalon is on the same weekend that 'I' want to do go-karting. Bummer ;)

I'll post up a new thread for people to give a, 'yes I am 100% entering AS'

    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
    • I got adjustable after market rear camber arm to replace the stock one's because got sick of having to buy new rear tyres every few months. Can anyone please let me know what the best adjustment length would be. I don't have the old ones anymore to get measurements. I'm guessing the stock measurement minus a few mm would do it. Please any help on replacing them would be fantastic I've watched the YouTube clips but no-one talks about how long to set the camber arm to.
    • Heh. I copied the link to the video direct, instead of the thread I mentioned. But the video is the main value content anyway. Otherwise, yes, in Europe, surely you'd be expected to buy local. Being whichever flavour of Michelin, Continental or Pirelli suits your usage model.
