Third Break Light

Hi guys,

Ive just picked up an S15, and I love it. I had the windows tinted before I picked it up and didnt notice till I got home that the third break light on the parcel shelf was taken off. I went to put it back after 24 hours, and found theres nothing to connect it to. There doesnt appear to be a bulb anywhere, and the red of the light has a black strip taped over it. Should there be something I am hooking this up to, or did it come like that as it has a break light on the spoiler? Not sure what the rule is, but Im in Vic.

I don't think it would be illegal to not have that light going. I'd say stuff it!

Though many S15's that's come by my way have the third light on the spoiler.

Yeah theres one in the spoiler, just dont know if the other one was ever connected :S

pretty sure most cars disconnect the parcel shelf light when there is a spoiler light, thats what i always thought, cause it would look crap if both are going, or something...

If you have a brake light in the spoiler then you don't need one on the rear parcel shelf.

There only needs to be a third brake light on the parcel shelf if you take the one off the spoiler.

In NSW, it would be illegal to have it CONNECTED.

With a spoiler, they disconnect it so the light doesn't reflect off the spoiler at night.

If connected, you would have to remove the spoiler due to it being an "obstruction" of a brake light.
