Hi Guys,

Our AGM is being held tomorrow at 3pm Toongabbie Sports Club, 12 Station Rd Toongabbie (preceded by eats or nom or whatever you want to call it)!

Members can check who's nominated in the NSW section.

Proxy vote instructions are there too!

Sorry about late notice - and sorry I can't lend you my chopper (cause I don't have a Lic to fly it) :P

Thanks Terry - Nothing that we shouldn't do ourselves, where we can.

Perhaps, and it's only a suggestion raised elsewhere, a bit more policing of the major threads by the collective moderators. Shouldn't be up to one or two to look like hard arses.

A few examples are/is:

  • the WTB's in the General FS section (slightly out of control)
  • Regulars who could be classed as semi-traders (ie: always stripping multiple vehicles and selling in the FS section). Opportunity to obtain small revenue there. or create a sub forum to advertise wares ?
  • More warnings/mini suspensions on repeat offenders (goers against internet ethos but ...) some folk are slammed and made to feel stupid.
  • Flip side to above is obvious clowns :(
  • Rate the Traders - to give the good ones more Trade (star system or percentage on feedback).
  • Identify in Traders Threads the % discount available (if member). Advertise this in a locked thread in Traders.
  • Encourage Traders to post SAU member pricing.
  • Stronger publicity/support on a couple of good charity's. Pick some majors. We all should feel good helping others.
  • Once a year Major swap n shop meet ? (with attendance of players like JJR, Import Monster, Kudos, OTR .... (see if they can do great discounts on this one day) and people like me can unload some good stuff !
  • Encourage more good DIY articles (lanyards, stubbie holders, public recognition) - Maybe set some time to clean that area up and re-create the indexed links ?

  • clean some of the above up ?

I haven't been to a Tech night but what a winner - well done team.

Big one - how do we thank the committee for all their efforts. Each and every state rep should be thanked. Easily taken for granted, often cop whinging, wonder why they volunteered !!!!

Maybe a free pissup/feed put on by the general club collective. Opportunity to take the piss as well.

Nothing new to you but felt like doing a long postage :whistling:

Edit: I'm not a member this year as it was difficult to Justify. Likely I will re-join but at the time I wondered Why (disenchanted somewhat).

SAU is a community.

99% of Skyline owners are people you would like to know and are the first to offer to help each other out.

Oh sorry - Two more.

The folk keeping this site running are invaluable and we need a way to show our appreciation.

I've not seen raffles as a fund raiser - except maybe at the SAU nats. Think we could increase the frequency to raise some funding.

richard, for your first 2 points, unfortunately this has nothing to do with the nsw club/exec team.

it is/should be controlled by the moderation team, put in place by the sau forum creators/runners should be keeping tabs on that.

There was a motion put forward today that ACT Execs and Central Coast Execs might wish to monitor; and that is "Prior to and after each Exec Meeting, agenda items be requested and commented on, and posted up in your forums/subforums"

The motion was seconded.

We shall look forward to your ongoing feedback and suggestions.

Thanks Richard for your points that Luke addressed within the time allowed at the AGM :)

    • Yeah i found that alot of parts can be wrong or "very" hard to get the real right one. I already bought some brakes years ago on me "old" GT calipers and they were wrong too 😄  I told them too. Even send them pictures...but they said "EBC catalogue has them on my car... So i dont know what their answer will be. I call monday them and let them know that they are really not on my car. If they were they would be already on a car...
    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
