well

after all my stuffing around and damaged knuckles i cant get the fly wheel off - i am borrowing a firends impact driver air gun, but i still am stuck on locking the fly wheel - can anyone pm some help something visual if possible

thanks in advance

Where are you?

Locking the flywheel? Do you mean to hold the flywheel while you undo the bolts? I use $40 electric rattle gun (Dicksmith, Jaycar, Supercheap) to undo the bolts. If I don't have a rattle gun, I use a large screw driver on the wheel teeth, braced so it doesn't move.

When you do them up, put a socket on the crank bolt and brace against the body. Just do them up like a wheel, it's not super important like head work.

Yes the ol socket on the harmonic balance locks it good.

And yes use a torque wrench to do it up properly, its real tight and you know you got it with the torque wrench.

If it comes off it can cut your legs off, so dont fk around.

Ps, i never got a flywheel off without a rattle gun.

I AM WEAK LOL

No no no, its impossible without real good leverage while your jammed under there and can hardly move your arms let alone get a good strong push/pull.

Eiji is just very persistant, and had a very long breaker.

Dont forget to be super clean with the clutch, or it may slip.

Anyway, the hard bit is getting the box back on, that will test your patience. So be careful with the input shaft, its easy to bash it into the clutch plate or springs while trying to get it into position.

Doing the clutch up evenly takes ages too. But worth it.

Good luck, hope it goes smoothly.

YEAH NPC told me to use some thinners or break cleaner on the clutch and or fly wheel surface to be clean as possible and clean the shaft and put very little amount of grease on the shaft..
