hi all. just installed a gcg hi flow turbo.

I noticed on my std turbo I would get boost creep to 12 psi. (after usual mods done)

now, with the standard actuator connected straight to the boost pipe (no boost cntrl) im getting boost spikes way above 13 (I back off straight away)

Ive notice the std actuator only travels 15mm or so. witch means the waste gate doesn't open very much at all!

how far is it supposed to travel? and any one know if I can get a long distance one?

im sure it would help, and stop over boosting.

Also have a 14psi actuator, that only moves 15mm as well.

if im barking up the wrong tree, let me know!

Has the wastegate port been opened up? Larger flapper? Take a look at the size difference between a Garrett GT wastegate and the stock one, then you tell me if they will flow similarly.

Opening the flap further won't improve flow much. The issue is the massive CHRA shoved into the stock housings, now you need more wastegate flow to divert enough exhaust gas flow around the turbo.
