I'm new to this site and just had a quick question for some of you that may already have a similar issue or have owned a gtr for some time. I'm currently living in japan and after three years of being here I will be moving to Portugal. A Japanese coworker has a gtr r33 he is willing to let go. He hasn't used the car in three years use to a fan belt, and water pump that needs to be replaced. He will fix those to two if I buy the car but the car also has small rust on the rear quarter panels and rust on the strut towers. What's up with this rust? Does anyone think it would be worth purchasing for $7,000.00. I will not have to pay shopping to Portugal, my job is providing me with that.

Any thoughts?

Depends on the rust. Surface or deep corrosion. What's probably happened is he hasn't cleaned or treated the car after driving in salted roads and stored it for 3 year. This is a no no. I would look for something else. Or get it full checked by a reputable workshop.. I wouldn't buy it personally.
