Props To Justjap

For those that read through my previous transmission issue thread. Here is part 2.

So after driving around for about 1.5 months, one morning, went to start the GTR and bam, T/M tests failed, limp mode, odd gears. Plugged in the cobb and had a pressure sensor failure.

There were several reasons why I didn't go back to the workshop where I had the original work done but I'll leave that out for now. With that said, gave Just Jap a call and told the guy on the phone the cobb code and got a fixed quote for labour and parts. Dropped the car off, came back from overseas and picked the car up with the gearbox all fixed and the bill 100% as quoted.

If you are in Sydney, I highly recommend these guys. Very reasonable pricing and no BS.

I've also had a trans sensor issue recently and ended up getting a built box from Justjap as I have plans for future mods down the track. I really can't talk highly enough of the service I received. It was bloody fantastic.

I emailed them on a Sunday and to my surprise got a reply. After many emails through the day and also into Sunday evening, I bit the bullet and went with a box they had built for Targa Tassie. Trans was shipped to Brisbane Monday and the car was ready yesterday.

I haven't had any dealing with Justjap in the past - and as mentioned I'm in Brisbane - but I will certainly be using them again in the future.

Also big thanks to CMR at Capalaba for their wonderful service.

    • Sorry for typo - it’s a VQ37 engine not VQ36.
    • On a 260RS? Don't they have Macpherson struts at the front like a Silvia? In which case, no, not 2 ball joints at the front. Only the lower one. (Unless when you say 2, you mean one on the left and one on the right, not 2 at each corner of the car). Skyline front suspension has a balljoint at the bottom of the upright (outer end of LCA) and a "kingpin" type upper bearing in the top of the upright. No upper balljoint either. The details of what happens above that differ between R32 and the R33/4. I think you should look at some pictures of the rear suspension (or just go take a wheel off your own car) and see what looks like it might or might not be a ball joint there. The situation at the rear is somewhat similar to the front. Lower ball joint and the motion at the top is taken care of by the bushes in the arms.
