D Din Which Head Unit?

Hey Guys, am spending the $ as many of you have done and get an aftermarket head unit.

Pioneer or Alpine, anyone got one of these? I have iphone 5 to use with. Any thoughts, experience with either of them?

personally i think pioneer has gone down hill are now to main stream to fit into the low budget car audio! hurts me to say this as only ever used pioneer for years but have moved away. certainly not the quality of the old days. I would head for the alpine out of the 2

I'd say all brands have dropped the ball with the head units given the tightly integrated OEM gear. The automotive manufacturers themselves killed off that market long ago. I still have my Sony MDX-C8900 minidisc unit, more for nostalgic reasons. The last of the brilliant decks.

But I agree with Frosty. If I was to choose any decent brand, I'd say Alpine is as good as it gets these days.

Alpine still make good gear. Go for mechless models the CD is dead... So much better with BT/USB
