Has anyone had any dealings with Autotechnik Tuning ?

I'm looking at ordering a set of Enkei's through Autotechnic Tuning at the cost about $1150.00 at my door and taking 6 to 8 weeks to arrive .

Now heres the onion .

I've been asked for a $500.00 deposit which seems a bit rich for something that's "about two months" till delivery, 20% fine , balance before dispatch , fine, --- nearly 50% deposit on something maybe 2 months away , not so much so.

Autotechnik may have been around since before the flood and be as good as gold, I certainly don't know of anything crook about them. but that kind ask on a deposit in this instance sorta makes me uneasy.

Would you order something worth that much for me with a small deposit? I think they are the ones taking the risk, of you not paying the balance when they arrive, and getting stuck with them. It happens more times than you would think.

Never dealt with them myself.

Firstly they're Enkei RPF1's , nobody gets stuck with Enkei's unless they're an absolutely off the wall size which these ain't .

Second if I didn't cough they'd only be wearing the dif between the wholesale cost and the 20% deposit I'd consider fair , that's a real long way from retail.

Third I'd pay cash for them straight up if they had the damn things in stock and I don't like being pronged for their lack of business acumen.

Fourthly--never mind me not paying at least they'd have the wheels as an asset , what about if they go broke in the 'up to about 6 to 8 weeks' delivery :woot:

And that's why I'm looking round to see if anyone else has dealt with these guys.

I bought my Enkei RPF1's from them. Budi is actually a pretty nice guy, they had tyres and wheels stacked up the wazoo.

that said, I am in Sydney, so i didn't need a deposit, just rocked up and paid on the spot.

Thanks for the replies guys , I'm off the Enkeis , the car these are bound for really doesn't warrant a large price tag on wheels or to much messing around with open ended time large deposits or bizare costs for centre caps ------$130.00 for 4 centrecaps wtf , Enkeis would have been nice but not a must have in this instance.

I'm pretty sure from the replies concerning Autotechnik that these guys are all good and I am saying nothing negative about them , they have actually done me a favour as the deposit thingo caused me to look around at overseas stuff and I've found I can get Konig Feathers in the size & colour I want with all metal bolt up valves and including centre caps to my door for AUS$870.00 , they weigh in at 6.9 kg , I can also get Rota Circuit 8 's @ $985.00 again to my door , these weigh in at 7.03kg , either of these will do the job just nicely.

Autotechnik are great. And you couldve just purchased from them over ebay.

And sorry to burst your bubble, but if you got 18" wheels they would weigh in around 8kg

only the 15" wheels are 6 ish kilo.

refer to this

http://www.konigwheels.com/Konig-Home/Konig-Passenger-Wheels/FEATHER-BLACK

And once again for the rota's. Only the 16's weigh in at 7 kilo.

http://www.civiclife.net/board/topic/93972-rota-wheel-weight-list/

And they enkei's weigh in on their chart

http://www.enkei.com/size_chart/RPF1.pdf

8 kilo for my 18x10.5 wheel

No bubble here :whistling:

FYI, I forgot to mention that I'm after 16x6.5 , 4/114.3 , +43 off set. possibly the most obtuse pos wheel I've ever tried to source aftermarket for.

I'm buying 16x7 feathers offshore via Ebay for near $200 + frieght cheaper at my door than the nearest onshore quote.

As for Enkei RPF1' s 16's --I 've been informed that they're no longer being imported in a 4x114.3 ----- :whistling:

FYI --Mods --I can't cut and paste in anything ----

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
