Hi folks,

Finally took the cef for a spin after 4 months of being on jack stands and noticed the passenger front brake line leaking.

I'm going to purchase some braided lines for it but wondering if there is a difference between Nissan models. I've got R33 front calipers with what I assume is the standard hard lines.

Any recommendations about which kit to get?

Thanks.

Take a pic of your brake line and I'll tell you what it's off.
When using 33 calipers, dudes roll one of two ways, some will shorten the banjo bolt so it will fit into the caliper properly, others will remove the olive fitting inside the brake caliper, that way the stock banjo bolt will fit all the way in and seal.

You could use R33 lines and not have to modify anything, only problem is that the line won't mount onto the caliper like S13/A31 lines do (they use a clip that slides in, R3x lines bolt in)

Those are R32/R33 Skyline brake lines.

For the fronts, standard S13 lines will work as long as you remove that little fitting down in the thread on the calipers.
S13 lines don't have that box thing half way, it's one line from hard line to caliper with just a slot on the middle for the clip to clamp it into that mount in your pic.

Rear brake lines all same same.

Awesome, thanks mate!

I found out HEL do an S13 kit for R33 calipers too. Which one do you reckon I should get?

Same price so I'm thinking the S13/R33 one might be easier to put in.....

  • 1 month later...

Way to slow, but I've been running that HEL S13 -> R33 kit with a set of R33 GTSt calipers for the last 5 years, haven't had a problem with them.

Obtaining replacement discs... that's a different story!

Finally got around to fitting these (still haven't bled them - #jackstandlyf) and went together ok but there is a lot of thread outside the caliper.

I spoke with HEL and the said it will be fine as it only needs a few threads to fit in there. Apparently they use the same fitting for multiple vehicles so just use a really long one.

* Random comment - I put "my g o d" in this post and it changes it to "my rajab" how odd!

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
