Knock knock knocking!

Ok Guys I just started up my R33 to day and a loud knocking noise is coming from the inside the dash just behind the air vents in the center of the dash.

Its a loud knockin and does it for about 5 to 10 seconds then stops, and only happens when I start up the car and it is fine after that.....anyone had this problem and fixed it?

It's the Aircon - My Skyline has done it for ages.

From searching the fourms for an answer it basicly came to somthing very small and very expensive to fix...

Dam it what is it making the noise? I will have to pull the dam thing apart! it sounds like a little motor trying to push something behind the dash and it is getting caught on somthing.....knock knock knocking noise is there!

yep its the aircon motor....it cog is stuck. ive got the same thing...i just live with it. do a search if u want to fix it.

Yep, I think its actually teeth broken off a plastic cog, or the cog is loose and just running over the teeth of whatever it turns. mine stopped a few weeks ago, must have built up enough dust and shit to block it

I've got the same thing happening too. Took it to a mechanic and his suggestion was similiar to watz been posted on here. As long as it's nothing mechanical, I'm planning on leaving it alone till I get a chance 2 take off my dashboard for a new interior redesign..then i'll fix the problem at the same time.

I tryed to fix it but as soon as I started to pull the dash apart and saw how big a job it was to get to the air con motor I gave up. But the noise is realy starting to piss me off! Has anyone fixed this problem???

my car does this too . freaky . its been doing it for a couple of months . i think its here to stay

did anyone ever get around to fixing it ?
