Hey guys,

Finally got my full license so decided to purchase a turbo vehicle, always had a soft spot for 33's, may not be the crowd favourite or a boat at times but with some effort put in they can look Blake Lively or Sally Fitzgibbons.

Just some previous car history:
Owned my first love, an s13, best s-chassis imo with its lines and simplicity.
N/A SR, pushed around 95-100kw with everything done do it so it was a ball to drive through the hills of adelaide and on the track, though inexperience + lack of power I did struggle to connect turns.

Now to move on to the 33:

Going to build this car with the mind set that I want to be able to run it on the track and still drive it to and from the track and also daily drives. When i bought it, mechanically is was real clean and tidy, the previous owner mainly took it to the shop to get parts installed, so at least I have the piece of mind everything is done right. The body though is something else, bit rough is few areas, but with some TLC and polishing it should come up good.

Currently runs 196kw @ 14psi, which is more than enough power for the time being as im still learning how to drift, so I will be focusing more on the handling side of things.

(^how it currently sits, after a light clean up)

Firstly before i rego it, I'm just going to give it a clean up;
Remove some stickers
Clean up the headlights
Polish and Wax
Nardi Steering wheels with boss kit.
Blast pipes
Shifter cover/shroud thingy? ( the leather cover that goes over the shifter)
CST Hyper Zeros 18x9.5 +23

Once registered I will start executing the build! first up I will put in a different set of coilovers ( thinking about BC racing coilovers, but have also heard good things about slideworks coilovers) upgrade the camber arms, toe arms, sway bars & steering lock.

In the mean time i will be adding small things interior and exterior wise such as roof spoiler, boot lip, possibly different front bar(will try find a pic of what im after), rear pods, LED tail lights, weather guards and others misc items.

Wont try to do anything else Engine and suspension wise after that, due to the fact I Haven't done a track day in it yet so unsure on what needs upgrading or what can stay the same.

Hope you stay tuned!

remove some stickers. hope by this your including the GTR badge :P

lets see some under bonnet photos.

i lvoe 33s. Keep us all posted man. not a bad wheel choice aswell.

as its a S1 gtst. id go with the Mspec front bar. looks much nicer and angrier. plus you wont if you go the S2 front bar route. you wont need to change the Reo bar. headlights bonnet to make ti look good.

haha,definitely removed it!

Will get some more pictures on the weekend, been hammered by work and will continue over the next few weeks so progress will be slow.

Wheel choice as in what I want to put the 33 on or what it currently sits on?

Definitely going to go with M-spec kit on this, big fan of the S1 and M Kit, not so much of the s2.

Looks good mate. Just to pass on a bit of advice, you may want to turn the boost down a bit seeing as I'm guessing its running the standard turbo. They're ceramic on that model and fail all the time above 12psi, it's very much when not if. You'd hardly loose any power as well, they're pretty much out of their efficiency after 12psi as well.

Other than that I hope all goes well for you. Enjoy your drifting :)

Thanks for the advice dude, new to the turbo side of things so I have no idea.

What psi would you reccomend running it at for daily driver? And I'm going on a limb here and saying that to change the psi you use the boost controller? Haha

I bren running my stocker on 10-11psi for over 6yrs no issues. 12 or under is tge general consensus. .. yea change in your boost controller...just watch what u change as u can screw some of em up with the wrong settings and dog ya car

Had some time today to take a few pictures and clean up the headlights, also started to remove some of the carbon vinyl wrap inside.
The next two weeks I will have little to no updates as ill be away for work... though its a good time to wait on parts as I've just ordered my wheels and just trying to find the right size for nardi deep corn steering wheel to purchase.

(^anyone have any tips on how to remove the left over residue form the GTR badge and the sticker near the exhaust, as over time its became very crusty and makes it near impossible to have a clean peal of the sticker)

(^left over glue residue not wanting to come off easily..)

and decided to give the s13 a quick polish/wax

What specs are the CST's on your s13, how hard were they to fit?

They're 17x9 +27, didn't have any issues with fitting them, just had some camber done at the front to get enough clearance. Only minor problem is the coilovers I have, the gap between the wheel and the cool is about 3mm haha, I used to run 20mm bolt ons without any dramas.

For those who were wondering, In regards to the 33 I apologies for the slow progress, just been absolutely hammered with work, I've done a few minor things here and there but nothing big, will give an update when I'm home in 2 weeks time!

Time to update!

After a few commitments that came up I slowly had some time to work on the 33, here's what happened:

Firstly I discovered a small plant growing out from my fender... so I decided to investigate and proceeded to take of the inner guards and what I saw amazed me, it seems as if its never been cleaned properly in its like or sat around for a long time.

The drivers side was the same...

While it was jacked up I decided to change the brake pads, which was really easy....., took out the old shitty ones and added some bendix ones for the time being!
jb2ucTx.jpg?1

Then I proceeded to clean the dash from all the glue residue, after a lot of elbow grease, scrapping shit paint and some plastic was I was really pleased with the results! i will do the same for the surrounding around the gear knob when I can!
bJF9RCD.jpg?1

Then this week turned out to be christmas! All car parts coming in! firstly the Nardi wheel came in and im pleased with how it looks! much cleaner and simple look than before!
BVg3QVp.jpg?1
and the CST's came in! i went with 17x9.5 +15, so now just trying to find what tire dimensions i should run! Any adivce would help!
pYdaRgx.jpg?1

I also went to change the oil and the pressure was constantly high and I have no idea last time the previous owner changed it. When i drained it the oil was fairly dirty and there was grit within it... and wiht my luck the sump plug snapped in half! so I will need to buy a new when next time I go autobahn. Finally just the two cars sitting next to eachother.(note the now black pipes for the intercooler, looks a touch less obvious now!

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
