Up for sale is my brand new Ross Metaljacket Balancer for R33 or R34 GT-R. It's rated up to 1500hp.

I bought it thinking I was going to run a full Ross Trigger Kit only to find I can't use their kit with an RB26/30 due to the sump adapter spacing the crank trigger mount away from the trigger wheel.

It's brand new in the box and never been on an engine.

Cheapest I have seen them is $650 delivered so I'll do it for $600 delivered Australia wide.

I'd also consider a swap for an ATI 1000HP balancer for R33 GTR.

Forgot to mention I also have the Ross belt guide that prevents the likelihood of throwing belts. It is used whereas the balancer is new.

The belt guide will be included in the price or available separately if it gets snapped up first.

Price drop!

$500 delivered for balancer alone.

$550 delivered for balancer and belt aligner.

Or swaps for ATI 1000hp balancer or oil accumulator or even a sneaky wristy may be considered.

Preference would definitely given be to an outsourced part. The outsourced parties would need to be approved by the committee firstly however through a display of the abilities of the outsourced party that are to be used for said payment method.

First in line (awaiting clarification) is Wyn, second in line is 90RNA.

I'll update the post as soon as I know.

Hi I sent you a pm and email earlier but have had no reply so hope you see this message

The balancer you supplied has turned up at Spool as requested but it has sadly arrived badly damaged

It looks like the box you shipped it in was in no way suitable, as it is clearly been bent from being dropped or knocked I guess ?

I have added a few pictures for you to see. These are exactly as Spool sent them to me. You can see in them there's just a little bit of bubble wrap around it so suspect that's why

As I'm in the UK its a little hard to call you else I would

In the mean time can you pm me your address so I can ask Spool to send it back to you for a refund

Obviously its of no use to me like this and I rather not risk it on a high value engine build

I'm sure you would feel the same if the shoe was on the other foot

Cheers and hope to hear from you soon

Thanks for getting back to me

Yes sorry I found your reply in the wrong folder

So you're basically saying tuff - its not your problem and you don't feel in anyway accountable for its damage ?

Even though I purchased the part direct from you and you shipped it, it's still not your problem ?

Sorry chap but yes I purchased the part from you - not the mail service - so I feel it is down to you to sort out !

But what you are saying though as I read your email reply is go ask Spool to order a replacement part and they then foot the bill on their account !!

You are some piece of work mate, that just shows how honest you really are fa sure !

I advise anyone who wants to buy anything off this chap to think twice

And if anyone thinks I am making this up then I will happily post Shoota's reply to me

btw, It's not to shame him at all either, just get the facts out there so others don't come unstuck

Make of it what you will

"It's not to shame him" ok, is that why you posted your reply here as opposed to emailling back your reposnse?

Let me save you the trouble, here was my response-

Wow, that would take a HUGE hit to cause that much damage. I would be amazed that that happened inside the box to be honest as the box would be destroyed from that sort of impact. Did they send you a picture of the box to see what sort of damage it had? The balancer was packed tight into the box with the bubble wrap packed tight against the lid holding it down.

You’ve seen the photos of the balancer I posted when I sold it which were taken a few days before I posted the balancer up for sale. There were zero marks on the balancer then which you can see in the photos.

I’m sorry if you feel it’s my fault mate but I can’t accept responsibility for something that happened in transit.

The good news is however is that the plate that is damaged is easily replaced. The backing plate is what is removed when the trigger wheel is fitted to the back of the balancer.

I’ve spoken to Ross Balancers head office and they have them in stock. Tell Spool to request one (timing wheel) and they will send it with their next order.

I’m sure with how much they’re making from you they can absorb the cost. I would have little doubt Ross would give it to them if they were a good enough customer.

Hopefully that is crises averted!

Mate I haven’t ripped you off and I haven’t tried to mislead you so hopefully Spool are going to help out to make it all perfect.

Let me know how you go.

Ewan.

Spool will most likely have one of these lying around the workshop from a Ross balancer that they've fit a trigger wheel to, if they don't, Ross do.

In future, there is right and a wrong way of going about reaching a resolution. You have done it in the entirely wrong fashion.

Because of that I'm sorry to say that I will not help you any further than what I have already done. If you had emailled me back (not posted here) and tried to work through it as an adult as opposed to trying to make me out to be a shit bloke that I am not, then I'm sorry but you're on your own.

Cheers yes it might be ok but as its going on a high value engine build I rather not chance it now

Last thing I need is for that to fly apart at high rpm or shake the nose of the crank off

Not to worry as Spool are now kindly looking into the cost of a new part, only they are right out of parts normally given away

Go figure lol

    • The car/ECU will have all the sensor that it needs and expect to have. I think i do not have to explain to you how the Link is way better specialy if you have swapped engine   I just do not want to deal with any "problems" cuz i have only Nistune which i learned is not that great and in my case cant even deal with that speed problem (Link can) And of course it will be way more easier to tune and diagnose and safe. And for the ECU/speed problem...i dont know.
    • Per Mark Roberts of Sonictune: Mark Robert Author At this time, no. No ETA either 2016-17 models. You will be able to purchase and install a 2018.5+ TCU though   TCU purchasing and pricing info! As we near the release of TCU tuning, I am going to answer some questions I get asked often.   What do I need for TCU tuning? At this time, you will need a 2018.5+ TCU to be able to tune. If you have a 2016-to early 2018, you will need to replace your TCU with the newer version. One good way to know if your TCU is good is if you have auto upshift in manual mode in 1st gear around 6500 rpms. If your manual 1st gear goes to 7k rpm and will hit the rev limiter unless you shift, you have the older TCU.   Why do I need to buy another ecu license/phone flash if I already have it on my ECU tune? The TCU is its own computer module. It is completely separate from the ECU. Because of this, you will be required to purchase a TCU license and, if your tuner has it, the phone flash license required to tune it via phone/bluetooth.   Do I need TCU tuning? TCU tuning is NOT required. However, the faster your setup, the more it will assist in track and dragy time consistency.   If I’m ECU tuned by (tuner A) can I get my TCU tuned by (Tuner ? Yes, since it’s a different module and a completely separate flash, you can have two different tuners. However, it is highly recommend that you have both tuned by the same tuner. For me, my TCU tuning will directly complement my ECU tuning style and features and running my ECU and another TCU or vice versa MIGHT cause some issues. At this time and for the foreseeable future, I will only be tuning my current ECU tuned customers TCUs.     I have a SYVECS AWD controller. Do I still need it? Yes! The AWD controllers main job is to control your AWD system. However, with TCU tuning, you will no longer need the auto-shift function as that will be done through the TCU. The AWD controller will still be very beneficial for racers looking to maximize traction on the launch.     Shift schedule changes: holding gears longer at lower pedal input as well as max shift rpm changes. Please note, the new ECU race rom coming out will address 90% of the shitty drivability issues these cars have through custom maps from myself and Racebox—as well as others I am sure.   Increase shift speeds: as seen in the videos I’ve been posting, the TCU shifts much faster once tuned.   Increased shift pressures: as also seen in the videos, much firmer full throttle shifts.

    • The fancy pants red shock tower brace is finally incoming from MX5 Mania, getting it shipped from 'Merica has been a long and problematic process, and GWR, the 'Merican supplier will not ship directly to consumers outside of the US, Mania basically had to order a heap of them, the colour choice was silver, or red, and we all know anything red adds 5 killerwasps of dynotorques..... Whilst it does fit over a 2.5, and I've seen a few photos and videos of it being installed and fitting, google also says it might get real close to the FAB9 intake front runner, people in the US says it does fit with the FAB9 intake, except for one person who said it slightly touched.......so there is that.....LOL..... As it seems that I am the first in AU to have this combination of parts there's no local knowledge about fitment, so I'm just a willing guinea pig in this endeavour, I'll cross my fingers and toes and hope for the best In other news, I ordered stuff from China  on the same day I ordered the 23° silicone bend from Victoria, the stuff from China arrived a day ago, the 23° silicone bend is still travelling around Australia thanks to Australia Post, and "may" be here next week
    • Very good news...I contacted Racebox about it last night. My car is a 2016 so remains to be seen if it is compatible, requires a TCU swap, or is impossible.
