Channels for Scanners

I have a scanner havent used it yet but just wondering what would be a good channel to listen too eg. NSW PO*ICE channel?

i thought that "broadcasting" po1ice was illegal, but listening in private was ok....like, if u walk down the street with it on, thats illegal. (or if u rent a movie, u can watch it @ home with a grp of mates, but cant show it in public)

not 2 sure where i heard that tho, or how reputable it is

If it was illegal, they wouldn't be able to sell scanners

As long as you're not doing anything illegal with the information you hear, then there's not a problem... however, if you were driving around with it in the car with it turned on, Police would take issue with you over it.
