I got the car back towards the end of last week from its second respray.

The first time it had massive orange peel throughout and paint runs every where.

The last couple of days last week were rainy so I wasn't able to full inspect the car. Initial inspection looked good, bugger all orange peel, nice and shinny.

BUT... As soon as the sun came out yesterday and today horrible white marks have appeared.

To myself (who doesn't know a great deal about paint) it looks like they have burnt the paint when buffing.

The car is going in Monday to get the front bumper buffed up as they left it dull and white looking. So I'll discuss the paint burns with them then.

Can some one confirm they are paint burns?

How is this fixed?

Can it simply be buffed out or will it require another damn respray

NOT HAPPY JAN!

Here's the previous threads with original peely pics.

They have three options:

- Give you a full refund so you can get the work carried out somewhere else

- Pay someone else to do the job again, professionally.

- Have another go ..

If they refuse get a lawyer to write them a scary letter.

Not sure, I am no expert when it comes to paint.

Just go back and bitch at them and see what they come back with. I remember the first time it happened thinking that you did pay top money for a top job, and that is not what they have given you on two ocassions.

I cant believe they even let you have the car back without it looking immaculate.

it looks like those "paint burns" are just buff marks, and they should polish off, but those runs are pathetic and they've just smashed the paint on as if they didn't care about ur car, u should definately tell them to fix it up, because u proly won't get ur money back, even if u do it will take ages

He shouldnt have to mate. If its been F*Kd twice, would you go and spend a few hours fixin someone elses shit?

No....well he knows where its headed anyways. If its burnt the paint, then yes - it will need to be resprayed. If it hasnt, well a good buff should bring it out. Either way the insurance company should find out, with minimal hassles to Joel to get it fixed...

Take it to another shop and get some advice on what the marks are. Someone in the trade would be able to diagnose that soon as look at it. The tiger pattern one looks like bodgy buff work, cloudy paint can be a result of painting in the wrong conditions, whens it raining for example.

Far as what you can do try an do it legally and sensibly if you can, i know id find it hard.

recently in my area i know of a spray painter who was hospitalised for doing a bodgy job!

Damn Joel, you're not havin much luck with this... I agree with Timd, take it to another pro, and see what they say.

She'll be right! But going from the pics, it does look like a good poilsh and buff will fix.

But seriously try to buff it out and see what happens, but honestly when i had some paint work done a little while ago and if i got something like you had got on your second time i wouldnt of even taken my car home!! which at one time i came back three times to the same paint place cos each time they didnt finish off things that i noticed..this was a insurance job and the insurance paid for my taxi everytime i went there.

Its going back in Tomorrow morning so we shall see. :(

Be sure to PM me if you are keen to know who it is.

A small percentage of the job is an insurance job the rest is private.

The problem you don't really notice half the issues with paint until you wash it your self. :D

From what i can see from the pictures, and from personal experience with detailing some cars, it will buff off!! but to be 100% there is nothing like seeing it in the flesh (impossible) which i could say 100%. Just grab some meguires polish when you get a chance and see how you go. My 2 Cents.

isn't it sad that in this day and age you have to go to these lengths to get what you paid for. im sick and f'ing tired of seeing dodgy work.

my advice is to not tough it at all incase it does need a respray. if you tamper with it you won't have a leg to stand on. firstly, take it back and see what happens. if it gets nasty, lawer time. It shouldnt cost anymore than $50 to get a solicitor to listen to your story and write a letter to them explaining their options those now being limited. you need to do something about it asap too, the longer you wait, the harder it will be to get them to do thier job properly.

also, it looks like the apprentice who painted your car the first time around was made to buff your car the second time around and look, he's f**ked it up again.

    • The 296mm rotors are the R33 turbo brakes. The 310mm rotors are the R34 turbo brakes. The calipers are nearly the same, but not. They're the same caliper but the R34 caliper has longer legs so that it sits out far enough to go over the rotor. The pads are the same for both. When you say, "I bough tsome EBC"....did you just mean pads? Or rotors? 310mm rotors fit under 17" wheels. There may be some wheels without enough clearance though. I can't fit my fingers between the barrel of my wheel and the "corners" of my R34 calipers, but there is plenty of room behind the spokes. This is on Enkei RPF1. You can fit 324mm rotors inside a 17" wheel, but I'd be willing to bet that it would be close to impossible with the Nissan/Sumitomo caliper (using an adapter, of course), because the Sumitomo caliper is fatter than the Brembo caliper that is supposed to go on the 324mm rotors.
    • Hi. Can someone tell me what brakes(and mainly WHERE) can i buy brakes on R34 GTT? I bought some EBC which SHOULD go on my car(i have GT but it has GTT brakes) but it does not fit, Brakes are "too" small(296mm) Are 310mm be good or? I have 17 inch wheel so no "big boys" but for me driving i just need one that fits and i can get here in EU/Czech.
    • Since winter isn't that harsh anymore in Poland, i will definetely drive it 365 days a year 😉. But if the snow hits i will try it for sure and let U know. Only swap i am planning to do is of course R34 GTR front 😍.
    • Hey. Very valuable information about pitwork, I will pay attention when buying any consumable parts 🙏 As for the carpets - I got a handful of information from nengun, from which it appears that indeed the carpets for the driver's side are OEM. They are not able to show me any pictures due to the long chain of different sales entities but after I place the order, as soon as the goods arrive at the nengun warehouse from which they will send the shipment to me they can send me photos and if my purchase differs from OEM I can immediately return it / cancel the purchase. I think I will give it a try 😉. Of course i'll let you know what's what as soon as i get them P.s. I know the topic is not relevant to the thread, but both nengun and amayama have these SICK 😍 trunk room lamps available. Do you know anyone who ordered them? I need to have one in my car
