Hi all,

need to know what version of software the 32 GTSt PFC is ( AP Engineering version)

Need to know, as I am looking at getting the FC-logit software and there site lists the FC-logit software as being the same for all FC operated R32/33/34 GTS's, but they don't know for sure without me giving them the software version

From what I have been told, look under etc->sw version, you will see for example RB25DET v3.11. I am not sure what the RB20 PFC version is as I won't have mine for another week, and need to find out ASAP

Thanks in advance,

Chris

many versions for all models. My R33 powerfc is 2.20E, while most are 5.13, 5.20 etc... Also, mine can be read with the GT-R datalogit software. But in the end we downloaded my rom, sent it to datalogit, then they sent back a dat file to use with my specific ECU. took 2 weeks to get the file. Hope that helps in some way.

Hi Chris, I am in Perth for 2 weeks so I can't just pop into the workshop and check the numbers for you. But both myself and Targa Tom are using Datalogit with our R32 GTST PFC's. I sent my PFC to Datalogit for 2 weeks last year and they used mine to write/check the software. Tell them to send you the same versions as they sent us.

Hope that helps :D

  • 2 weeks later...

Power FC has arrived, and I plugged it in last night - stupid thing is I forgot to take note of the version

Will have another look tonight and send them a email to confirm

Chris

The plan is for me anyway is to go halves with a mate who has a R33 with a PFC, but not sure if the software will work on both yet., so we can both use the data logging at drags and track days etc

I am going to pop around to Tilbrooks over here, as they have the GTR and GTS software, if it works, then I will look at getting it.

For someone who has no idea about tuning, the software is pretty expensive, as you cannot make full use of it

If I had my own dyno and AFR meter, sure, it would be worth it.

Still tossing up who to tune it, Tilbrooks with the laptop software (if it works) or Boostworx via the hand controller.........

What does everyone reckon?

The FC-logit software has data logging functions, it also allows you to save various maps onto your PC and load them, rather than have to re-do the whole thing via the hand controller which takes ages. It also allows it to be tuned via a laptop rather than the hand controller, and there are a few more functions that you can access from what I can gather

Will look at both places when the time comes, but Shaun has produced the goods with so many cars of late its hard to ignore. Tilbrooks, well I have had the majority of my stuff done there in the past ( before the Mick Dynasty :P ) and Mark is a top bloke and looked after me in the past

Chris

Let me know how much it costs, im starting to get a little gun shy at the cost of it all, PFc + hand controller $1440, $300 for AFM and $500 for tune. So Total $2240 and no laptop software, im guessing with Datalogit all up close to 3K...

You don't NEED the Commander if you have a Datalogit system. But I like them anyway, because they save more than their cost on extra gauges and for quick diagnosis they are hard to beat. ;)

Yeah, after a short drive, I can see the knock sensor and water temp becoming quite handy ;) Great for a quick reference to see how everything is, would be good for a track day so you can see how hot your motor is running.

Pity it doesn't have air inlet temp as well, that would be just fantastic

    • Mixing things up - installed some leather recaros to match the leather seat covered rear seats. Interior looks pretty schmick now except for some slight wear on the steering wheel which I will monitor and address if it becomes worse or actually noticeable!

The project cars I'm always doing things slowly on them as I'm wanting them to be done better, and neater, and nicer. Luckily I don't have to deal with 18 year old Matt's "Learning to wire" stuff in the project cars. And there's only one piece of wiring I'm displeased about in the Landcruiser, and it's about to be cut out... However, the box loads of parts that have been going through this place lately for the Landcruiser... Brake pads Brake Rotors Full handbrake overhaul Wheel Bearings Seals Swivel hubs Steering Boxes Half the suspension joints Shocks Air bags (Ones to go in the rear springs for towing) Water pump Timing kit Lower timing case Harmonic Balancer Radiator Lots of other little seals and shits Gas struts for the bonnet New power window switches And god knows what else I've forgotten... Ha ha ha I have my fingers crossed the pinion seals don't start leaking on the diffs, that the transfer case doesn't leak, and the gearbox input shaft doesn't leak, nor the rear main seal. As they're about the only seals I haven't replaced in the driveline! I'm seriously eyeing off buying new caliper rebuild kits front and rear brake calipers... I'll probably recheck all the valve clearances soon too, and hopefully, it should be all good and sweet to haul some long distance trips again!
    • Every time I pull my 3x gauges out of the console and see the crack-addict way that I did the wiring, and I just can't bring myself to tear it all apart and "make it nice", because it is currently working. In fact, the last time I was in there I probably made it worse.
