Guest Nismo_Freak
Most people enjoy Horsepower... I however like MongoosePower or the generic kind of power called Powah. English owns you if your a Brit, I thought you redcoats wrote the book on that language. adam 32
with std intercooler youre best setting the boost to 10-12psi. so what youve got it at is fine. any more and the exhaust wheel will d/c from shaft and end up in your exhaust pipe if you want more power get an AFC (air flow converter) such as the Apexi S-AFC. make sure you have a better intercooler b4 running more boost. (std is very inefficicent) if you have the right fuelling and management, the RB25 can handle over 300rwhp, but your turbo will die before your engine Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/4897-what-sort-of-power-can-i-run/#findComment-76883 Share on other sites
gtsm
HI thanks for replies,i have front mount intercooler if i go turbo/head gsket what boost/power can i run on crank/block ?? lee Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/4897-what-sort-of-power-can-i-run/#findComment-76913 Share on other sites
adam 32
as i said before the most you can run is 12psi (safely) otherwise the shaft speed will be too fast for the turbo which will cause the exhaust wheel to d/c and end up in your exhaust! Bugalugs
We have someone from here that is running 300rwkw with the stock bottom end. They havnt blown it up yet. With your new turbo,H/Gasket you will also need an aftermarket ECU aswell as injectors, fuel pump, fuel pressure reg...... When all this is done make sure you go to a good tuner cause they will make or brake your car. Matt hey Bugalugs just asking who is this? what mods has he done and how long has he been driving it like this? i dont think the engine would be able to last long with that level of wear and tear? (correct me if im wrong) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/4897-what-sort-of-power-can-i-run/#findComment-77580 Share on other sites
Bugalugs
Mods-I dont think this forum has enough space to list it all.Its the GTST in the one of the Speed magazines owned by Danny from JMS.I watched it do a 296rwkw at a car show.He drives his cars hard(i know, ive chased him). Its interesting that you say the stock bottom end wont handle the power.I just havnt read or heard much on ppl breaking motors cause of the bottom end,its always other things that have caused the problems. Maybe someone can correct me if i`m wrong. Anyway its a NISSAN it dont break! Steve
Have been told by one of the performance houses over hear that the best 'reliable' hp you can run before needing to start thinking about going to forged pistons is about 350 rear wheels. Not sure if he just wanted to sell pistons, but at the time the conversation had an emphasis on reliability to the point of being able to run all day every day Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/4897-what-sort-of-power-can-i-run/#findComment-79784 Share on other sites
adam 32
it all depends on fuelling and tuning. an engine can be fried at 200rwhp exactly the same way as 400rwhp with a lack of fuel/too much boost i personally dont think you can say at xxxxrwhp you will need forged pistons, it can vary greatly steve, who told you that?
