small oil filter

is it ok to be using a smaller oil filter?.

mines relocated and i put on a toyota one. Would this affect the turbo in any way? being that my turbo just blew not even overboosted.

It should be ok if the facing is of the same size, and also the filter isnt much smaller than the OEM one.

be careful of oil filters not designed for your engine. some filters have one way oil flow valves that are engine/manufacturer specific. this can effectively starve your engine of oil (i have heard of this happening before). probably not likely but i'd always go for something that is advertised as compatible.
