Well it's finally here! The scouting has been done and the pace notes written. Now it's time for all of you skyliners to show your support and break records!

This Massive Skyline Cruise (MSC) has been organised this time round to involve kiddies/wives/husbands/uncles/aunties/grandparents for a great family day out. HELL, bring the dog if you so desire.

Date: 28th November 2004

Time: 9:30am for a 10:00am departure

Location: Aspley HyperMarket Carpark. The carpark closest to the intersection of Albany Creek Road and Gayford Street/Maundrell Terrace.

Requirements: Skyline of any make/model. UHF Radio and a sense of adventure. FULL TANK OF PETROL! I can't stress this enough.

Destination: Lake Baroon. Gorgeous picturesque views of the lake and surrounding mountains. PLENTY OF PARKING. This location is up north out past Maleny/Beerwah/Woodford.

We did the scouting run around the time that we are going to set off on this cruise. There was very minimal traffic around this time of the morning. Trip is a good one and a half to two hours with stops scheduled in between for stretching the kiddies legs and toilet stops.

As mentioned, there are tables and bbq areas for those that bring their own food. There is also a canteen thing that provides fresh sandwiches, breadrolls, refreshments and icecreams. I will be phoning them to let them know of our intentions and to have extra food on hand for this particular day.

There are also lake activities at this spot. You can hire a boat/paddler/canoe and investigate the lake closer (I have information on the prices for these activities). There is a playground to keep the kiddies (or parents) entertained. If you feel the need to do some exercise, theres a bush walking track.

Once people have consumed their food and had a good break, we will be heading back east towards the Bruce Highway where people can choose to either go back to Brisbane or continue onto the Sunshine Coast for some sunday afternoon laps.

This cruise has specifically been set up for during the day so that it gives families a great day out, as well as some great photo/video opportunities.

Lets break the record of 77 skylines from the last MSC!! Let all your friends know and be there or be square. I am giving you over 6 weeks notice.

There will be no irresponsible behaviour or driving tollerated on this cruise.

Stagea's and Cefiros are invited to participate in this cruise if they wish.

It's probably worth drawing everyones attention to the recent media coverage of the EVLR34 crash in NSW... Once again, a stupid mistake by the driver of a Skyline has brought even more unwanted attention on us a community...

On Sunday, whilst we are "cruising for the kids", a HEAP of modified car owners are having a memorial cruise for those who lost their lives in the EVLR34 crash... It is a sad time, that's for sure, but I don't think we should let that stop us from having a good time...

What I will ask though, is for us ALL to be on our best behaviour on Sunday... Lets stick to the speed limits, keep the rubber on our tyres, and leave the racing for the track... We've all had our "fun" before on other "cruises", but IMO, Sunday is not the day for that sort of thing...

We will be on display as a community, so lets not make our image any worse to the general population... We're in the bad books as it is...

    • Working through possible solutions of converting my mechanical speedo.    Anyone know what type of speedo sensor the factory r34 gtr getrag has ? what the output is ? I assume its not a VSS and more a voltage like earlier speedo sensors ? Can an ECU read it ?
    • roof rail delete used to be a thing, they were made locally for a while too
    • I can get more photos of it here soon and I plan to make a thread detailing the process. I received the car this way and it sorely needs refinishing. That is probably the most appealing photo of it. Up close it is fading, cracked, and needs to be re-glued. Depending on their condition I'm on the fence between refinishing or making a new set.  Another angle hiding the pimples and razor pumps
    • According to this thread the RS4V with build plate RC40 comes with the R200 diff @ 4.083 ratio as well (mine has said RC40 denotation). We may need to check if the axle stubs are the same pattern as well. The auto subframes have longer axles. However I think yours being a later Series 2 as well, we should have the same bolt pattern for the diff stubs. Unless your upgraded rear also has upgraded axles. Either way, I would not be opposed to pulling the covers to check so I can inspect that  fancy rear core  Also I don't have HICAS. I don't believe that should change things but I hope the people here with heaps more experience than me can correct me if I'm wrong   Let me know if you want to attempt to make this work and I can get some pictures of mine from under the car.
    • It's not that straightforward. For example I have had this code because my ignitor/power transistor wires were unplugged. It knows something is wrong but has no idea what it means. If you want to actually diagnose this I recommend following the service manual flowchart for code 21. Ohm out the harness, coilpacks, inspect the ECU, etc. And again, it's entirely possible for there to be no problem at all but if you're running a different coilpack it'll trigger the code because it doesn't like what it sees.
