As previously posted, a P-plater kindly ran into the drivers door and front quarter about a month ago. Repairs were carried out by Hybrid/Vision in Artarmon and are perfect. Even good enough to satisy me, which is a VERY big ask...

All new panels and parts were shipped from Japan, with minimal repairs, and maximum replacement with new parts carried out.

The car looks and drives exactly the same as it did before the accident. If I didn't already have my heart set on a GTR, I would keep this car.

hey Merli,

I replied to your post in the performance forums.

But i was wondering if youre willing to sell any of the performance parts (suspension BOV) separately.

I would sell my car and buy yours if it had a few more performance mods like intercooler, etc. Do you know what sort of power it has?

Yes it is sexy :)

Ethan_R33: no, I don't want to remove anything from the car. Too much trouble, and I think the car looks nice the way it is... Why don't you put your intercooler on this one then?

Merli. :P

Who cares what they are worth...... at the end of the day if the seller can get what he wants/needs to for the car its all good...

private sellers/importers are in a different class to dealers - people will always be prepared to pay a premium when buying at a dealer for the peace of mind that they have someone to come back to if theres a problem..... thats really the under lying point here.:uh-huh:

by by.. nizman has appologised to merli for going a bit off topic and i too sent merli a pm about the thing..

however ure point is right.. at a dealer u will always pay alot more than private sales.. however just cause a dealer charges those prices doesnt mean that ppl will pay them on the private market, however merli's car is a rare one and anyone that would have seen it will agree it is definately one of the nicest sky's going around..

i have deleted the other non relevant posts.. apologies again to andrew(merli)..

I've decided to keep the car.

I couldn't bear to sell it, and none of the people who came to look at the car deserved to own my baby.

That, and I have decided that a GTR isn't worth $40,000 more than my car.

All in all, tough titties. She's staying with me.

Merli,

what seats did you have in the car at the time of the accident (i was there unfortunatly, sad night!) where they out of an Integra or were they just bought from a recaro dealer (do you happen to know the model and if you don't mind me asking, the price?).

i am entertaining the idea of replacing the seats in my GTR with them , they look awesome and probably more comfortable!

Thanks

They are Recaro SR-IIIs out of an Integra Type-Rice...

Despite what people tell you, they are not the same as the Recaro SRs you can buy from Roman Autotek... They have firmer padding and they squeeze tighter around the thighs and sides of your back...

To get the Recaro SRs from Roman Autotek retrimmed in the same Recaro materials as the Type-R, it would cost $800 a seat, as quoted by Roman Autotek. Add to this the price of the seats ($995 each I believe), and you have very expensive seats to replicate.

Best bet is to find someone with a Type-R who wants to upgrade their seats... I won't give you an price indication, because they can charge as much as they want for these awesome seats...

If you're coming on ONARUN's cruise tomorrow, you can try the seats out...

sorry, just got my name changed..

unfortunatly i won't be able to get there tonight, my car is in getting a new gearbox and clutch.. Will definantly take you up on that offer next time i see you though..

Any idea where to even start looking for these integra seats? what could they possibly upgrade their seats to? i have checked out as recaro's web site and they seem to be the best seat available (that hasn't got a fixed back, and fixed base, i still want those features..)

Thanks

Trend, Sport, Style... They're all more upmarket... Electric seat positioners, memory functions, inflatable lumbar support...

Believe it or not, Recaro SRs are the 2nd cheapest (decent)Recaro available... Right after the dodgy N-Joys that Proton put in the GTi. There are cheaper, but you wouldn't even bother sitting in them to test them out...

No... I believe that the SR-IIIs are the tightest recaros available...

I'm sure someone with some prototype Recaros from Germany will prove me wrong on this :P

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
