Hey people,

since im not allowed to get a dog(because parents love there garden too much), i have settle to get a ferret, i've been looking around for people selling them around sydney area and they appear to be limited..

I sooo want a ferret.. they are awesome.

Try and get in contact with a breeder, that way you can do some research on them. I would also suggest you find a vet that can de-sex them and remove the stink gland.

I got mine from there.

You'll need to teach them not to bite you as well.

Put a bell around their neck or you'll have heaps of trouble finding them if it manages to run away.

Like carlo said, get them de-sexed and the stink gland removed. I think the females don't smell as much though.

They are pretty cool and are funny to watch sliding around on tiled floor.

damn $60-100 is quite expensive!

I was told if you get it de-sexed they won't stink much, the stink gland is used to attract the opp sex.

OMG YES!

Even removing the stink gland doesnt get rid of it completly.. and its the males that are the worst, if I remember correctly. Had one for a few months, then my sister lost it !! never let her look after anything again!

Have a Ferret cage you can have if you end up getting one, got it from kelly ville pet stores for $200.. but have no need for it now.. so if you need it let me know

its a good idea, to get it from a real;y young age, that way it gets used to you and being around people in general. If you get them at an older age, they tend to be hard to control and dont like being around people.

you have to wait till its a few months old before you can get it desexed I think, and make sure you get all the vacsinations (sp?) done if the breeder doesnt do it themselves.

dont have any pics handy of the cage, but its 3 level white wire cage, with a removalble bottom section for easy cleaning..
