i watch a lot of television and have not come across such a show.

there are lots of great dramas and stand up comedy shows though.

Dude, just because there is heaps of car's in japan... doesnt mean there is shows about local drift - maybe backyard channel's like our CHAN 31.. they would only show D1 gran prix event's on jap t.v.

thanks

Havent any Japan residents heard of "Option TV"? Usually on Thurday night at about 11pm? (well it *was* on, havent seen that show for months now)

Option TV didn't just focus on drift, but also circuit, drag, new parts, interviewing tuning shop owners etc. Cool show but always too short! It only went for 30mins or so. They always had this cute girl doing the interviewing, soooo cute because she knew so much about cars.

REDFC: Akeenan watches alot of Japanese TV, he didn't say they have lots of shows about local drift??? Maybe Japan residents are best at answering this thread...

Theres also "Boon!" which is on Sundays (I think) at about 8:30pm, but again I haven't watched regular TV for months having gotten cable TV.

Boon! is a motorsports show, they showed highlights of a D1 round once, but usually talk for ages about awesome oval racing in the US /sarcasm

I always found it strange that a country with so many motorsport fans shows absolutely no motorsports on TV. F1 is never live and its cut like crazy, MotoGP is never live either, JGTC, Super Taikyu are never televised, WRC... I'm lucky if I catch 30 min on ESPN once a month, scheduling is a nightmare as you never know when stuff is on as its never shown in the same spot. As for drifting, never seen it on TV, but like Dave I NEVER watch Jap TV. Even half the commercials make me sick....its like the US type of stuff from the mid 50s. Plus, 99% of japanese actors on TV act like 8 year olds at the school play and its boring as its always the same people on every show...which are just little kid singers/stars with hair cuts like teenage girls:p

Thank God for bittorrent....at least I can choose to download/watch what I like! :D

WHAT you guys dont like the commercials here in japan? thats the only thing i watch whenever theres nothing on. i like it how they dont make any sense to the stuff that theyre trying to advertise. havent seen any drift show around here either, it was featured in world records before, where a challenge would come up like ie. they drift a mini looking car in the middle of this boxes which has like 24 cm of space in the front and back, then like 12 cm in the sides, some small number like that. then i think they did it with one of those isuzu construction trucks, anybody knows what im talking about?

Two words DCD: J-Sky Sports... JGTC, Rally, DTM, F1 you name it. Best cable channel in Japan!

Yes I know....I just though we were talking about regular tv. I have Sky perfect TV and BS digital. Anyway I'm at most JGTC, Super Taikyu and D1 races for work anyways:D I still think regular tv is a joke! The world stops in Italy when there is a F1 or GP race...and its not like there aren't any japanese drivers or teams so makes no sense it is not globally acknowledged here? Am I the only one that thinks this?

yukio...yes I know what you mean. I meant the really silly day-time type commercials for food products, detergents and so on. Not the crazy bizarre ones they have on later on at night.

It's strange isn't it? Then again, there haven't been any wildly successful drivers from Japan, that and I guess Europe will always be the center of the universe of motorsport. So the deep down enthusiasm just isn't there amongst most of the population?

But getting back to TV, theres no reason why they couldn't have a "motorsports weekly round up" type show on Sunday morning showcasing all national coverage and whatever big international races were on that week... prime time for all the blokes I guess. Wierd.

Okay, thanks guys.

Didnt want to bring up a boring topic for you all. A friend of a friend came back from japan and mentioend it to somebody, so i was asked to find out.

Like i was saying, have a friend in japan who isnt into cars and such, but said he might tape some if i named time and channels. if its just junk then dont want to bother him.

We still have RPM and such on sunday afternoons, so can get our fix for rally and whatever else is happening at the time.

Anyway, only drift i ever see is when someone splashs out for BMI/Option dvds or clips floating on the found on the web.

Havent seen anything about japanese tv in general, prolly means nothign if you arent 100% fluent; and judging from what the rest of the world does see, its just silly game shows or a samurai drama.

cheers,

hb/

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo :-D

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
