Well despite being only 2,000kms old the new clutch is slipping in 3rd and 4th gear. So it appears the place that said it was the goods for my setup were wrong:(

So rather then fark about with more grabby single plate/puck clutches. What sort of dollars do you need for a sensible twin plate that can cop a bit of slip off the line without crapping itself.

Yeh mine is either the Xtreme or Exedy single plate?!?!?!?!!...have to speak to the place that isntalled it Monday morning.

Sounds like it was one of them "out of the box" poorly setup brand name clutches.You dont need a multiplate just a well designed and setup single will suffice. Stacey runs a Jim Berry clutch in her race car and absolutely punishes it. For a GTR making around 400awkw and after over 25 runs down WSID its the goods. Its the same clutch i put 2RISMO on to and he is still tugging off on how good it is. For around $1000 you couldnt spend your money any more wisely.Paul...DIRTgarage.

Yeh, dont know if its any good in the grand scheme of things, its one of the early UAS GTR ones. My old clutch was a UAS GTR one and it hung in there for almost 3 years:)

Not into drag racing in a big way, just gave it a try the other night and it slipped, so i dont think its stand much of a chance in an event like the Dutton etc, so best replace it:(

A lightened flywheel with a clutch like that for drag racing is a big no-no. The flywheel cannot dissapate the heat the clutch material produces because of its thickness. For drags use a stock flywheel, not only can it absorb more heat, but also has more inertia ie: spins harder. Jim can explain the physics of it all if you like.

I thought this style of flywheel ran cooler? Understand larger mass so aborbs more energy/heat...but absorbs mroe energy/engine power as well.

Is that a kinetic energy thing, larger spinning mass wants to stay spinning because of inertia? Same trade off...i want an engine that can accelerate/deccelerate quickly....only have a casual interest in drag racing...im only going back because R31Nismoid handed me a whipping:(

But ill give him a buzz on Monday...but i certainly dont want a drag only clutch, just a versatile one:)

Call Jim on 07 38479999 and see how ya go.

I love mine. Slips well off the line (although I'm still learning more with every pass) and I've had 29 passes with it in the last 3 weeks. Grabs harder than my previous "Clutch-In-A-Box" but isn't ridiculously heavy and is fine for putting around to the shops with.

      Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂

      The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.

      Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.

      Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful

      Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
