Old manual climate control buttons not working

As per topic I have a cefiro so I have the old school climate control thingy. Its got buttons for the different settings, ie face, auto, demist, etc etc. Atm its stuck on demist, however its summer now, and I just got my A/C regassed so I want it on face now.

So would this likely be just a contact problem (needs contacts cleaning, or new climate control headunit thing???), something stuck in the flap that directs the air (if so where is it to have a look) or, should I throw out the car and buy a new one (not really an option)

Just because tis the easiest option i'd pull the button assembly and just see if anything jumps out at you as wierd. Have a play around and see if anything changes.
