I love it when you talk like that Adrian. ;-)

Obviously the Winter months are when the badass contingent comes out to play. Sounds like you've been bitten by the bug!

Hehe. The new turbo is mocked in place inthe foreground, the old turbo (the one I used on the ten second pass) is held by Herbert in the background.

M Coupes only need one turbo to run you know!

Kenny,

Are you gonna skin the rear bar now it's lightened?

What dash are you using?  Old OEM one or fabricating an Aluminium one?  Motec???

Turbo specs for new one?

Adrian

Adrian, stock bodywork will be replaced, it's just off to fit up the parachute anchor.

Using a Stack dash with a Stack boost gauge, Autometer shift light and warning light. Erik will work out how to fit all that shit into the OEM dashboard.

Staying with the BMW ECU with piggyback.

Running a larger Garrett ball bearing turbo now.

Your TS seems very low for the mods you have. I would put your car on a dyno for a tune

i might get it checked out in a while, i got the car in its current tune, it feels right for what it is... it felt quite slow that day i think because of the heat...

but yeah i know that other cars with similar or less mods have higher mph. i know the motor is good though as i have checked compression so it cant be that..

Yeah that time seems very slow for the mods.

I ran a 13.9, 2.2 60ft'r at 205mph with 'just'

- Front Mount

- 13psi

- Turbo Back Exhaust

- POD FILTA BRO!

No suspension mods, and on 235 Marshal Racers (Very very poor tyres)

The morning I went down the strip I had it dyno'd and there was a problem, it wouldn't get over 100kw, the crank angle sensor was full retarded and we only knocked the CAS forward so I could have more power, ran again with 169kw

An as benm said, you really do have to drive it like you stole it, don't be scared to go that extra step you don't on the street :D

mate trust me im not scared to drive the thing hard :P :P

Doing fine , i still have the trap speed on him though .

I don't think i'll be doing anymore to this car , i'm waiting for my r34 gtr ( its in Osaka waiting for a ship ) .

Mick should be a bit quicker next time at wsid , new spark plugs fitted and spark plug cover off , thats got to be an extra .2 - .3 sec quicker !

When are you going there next ?

Good to here about the R34 on the way. Mick's Skyline will definitely improve ET and trap speed with the spark plugs. Imagine if he gave it a wash!

We will be out when this phase of build on the M Coupe is completed. We will have to run the new engine in before the final tune as well so we should be out again April-May 2005.

    • I was 99% sure the standard one is long enough to get there, you might just have to change the throttle orientation. If not, I remember someone having used an r31 cable instead, but that is probably harder to find than r33 by now...
    • HELP   Hey all, Is there an accelerator cable from another Nissan that can be used on the R33 GTST RB25DET with a Greddy forward facing plenum?  Thanks in advance  Rob
    • Or do we think it was installed to give 1 bar of boost max, all day, everyday?
    • So could it be assumed it has been installed intentionally with potentially a power FC boost controller kit?
    • Had my rig on Matt's dyno at PITS the other day. After a few years between tunes I added a few sensors and swapped intercoolers. Result. 553hp at 26psi. Not bad for an FJ20 that was built in 2007. The problem.. It filled the overflow bottle on hard runs which leads me to believe the head gasket isn't sealing. I have a coolant pressure sensor which was reading cap pressure at 22psi and occasionally overrunning to 23/24 psi on deceleration after a pull. It was not spiking. It has arp2000 head studs and a cometic gasket. As its been 18 years in service, I pulled the engine out and head off. Everything looks good but we obviously have an issue. Where I'm at.. Years ago I had the same issue, I checked the stud tension and they were all over the place. Some at 60 to 70 and some up near 90. I nipped them all to 100ft lbs and this stopped the water push until now. I believe this compromised the gasket back then. What do I do? 2 options are..  1) I bought arp 625+s, which I could put in with a new gasket. Thinking Kameari this time, reassemble and try again. 2) strip the block, get fire rings machined in with copper gasket and try that. I do not want to push it more than 28 to 30psi. I think the turbo will be out by then anyway. (G30-770). My other concern is the long term ability of a copper head gasket. Are they streetable for years? I feel like a new gasket with the new studs will probably suffice, but I don't know. Any thoughts welcome and advice on copper gaskets and fire rings. Thanks!
