Answer to question A:

You can get fuses and RCA's for car audio stuff from JB hifi or any other car stereo place. The best thing to do (and the easiest) is just buy one of the wiring kits. They come with power lead, fuse, fuse holder, earth wire, terminals etc.

I havent had any experience with audio stuff in skylines though so cant help you out there. Just give it a shot, you cant really stuff it up, just make sure the power cables and the RCAs go down opposite sides of the car.

erm u dont need power cables run seeing the batterys are already in the boot mate :(

ive got 8 guage and 6 gauge shit but honestly i dunno what im doing *lol* i got 2 x 800 watt Epsilon 12" subs [alraedy boxed] and an Epsilon 1500watt amp...

so yer... *shrug*&

wiring kits are useless... id rather just get the gear myself i only need the RCAs everything else i took out fromt he old install

Ok ive got a r32 so the batts under the bonnet. You can get the fuses and rcas from anywhere as i mentioned.

Most people are at work at the moment, including me. Come along to a cruise or meet and im sure there will be heaps of people willing to give you a few pointers.

Rhett

RCA's, like rhett said are very easy to get. Go down to JB hi fi or Autobarn whoever. They all have them. How many channels does the amp have? What do you plan on powering with the amp, subs obversely, but also any splits or 6x9's?

Oh and what area of town are you in?

its a mono block 1500watt Epsilon amp... one channel i believe... ;)

and i just dont know what gauge i need... ive got the biggest fitting gauge power wire that i can just slot straight into the ports in the amp.. but if i could go bigger if its of any use / enhance anything and theres a way to get it in i would....

i just need RCA's and a fuse to put int he power wire...

problem is, A) i dont wanna damage the liner one bit and id rather the help of someone thats done it before so i dont screw up :(

Unless your running mega power for some sort of competition car stero i think the wire you have should be fine. The only probelm i can see is running the rca cables through the car. I did this but running it under the carpet in the middle of the car, under the seat and up into the boot. Power wont be and issue as the battery is in the boot already, so just put in the fuse between the battery and the amp, and wire in the power cable. Dont forget a decent grounding cable aswell. If you need help and feel like a drive to Wheelers Hill (near glen waverley) pm me, i will be trying to fit my cooler tomorrow but will still see if i can help.

im using completely only stinger pro series of cabling... just got it all today... its all setup on the amp and the sub box... [just put the wiring in etc...] but its not in the car... ive just left that for when i got someone that knows their shit, once the RCA + remote is layed [go figure the one wire ya need , and i forgot the bastard when i baught all the cabling *sigh*] so yer... lol

if u can give me a hand, please let me know ive PM'd u my mobile number and i got my keys next to me ready for when ya contact me, either message me or just call me mobi number... or prank it and display ur number and ill call u >... :DD

    • Absolute f*cking nightmare. I had to take breaks constantly, and I was always pissed off when I got home. The line split in Italy on day 2 (we drove from the Netherlands), lol. Driving any narrow European town was... well, sh*t.   Appreciate it man. Here, I'll just drop a favourite from the load I took on Saturday.   I'll update here when things happen with the car, the thing is, with stock power and almost everything chassis-wise taken care of, there really are no problems. 268,000kms now and counting.
    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
