Last night I was driving normally and then came up to a hill and said what the heck and felt like giving it a good thrash. Anyway I reved my car and dumped the clutch but a few secs after moving I was like wtf why isnt my wheels spinning and the cars moving. I tried to push in my clutch as I was coming to a stop sign and realised my clutch was all the way stuck at the bottom!! Only other time ive felt this is when my clutch cable snapped on my civic. I couldnt put my car into gear for bout 1 minute then it jst popped out and was normal again??? Only thing is my clutch feels a bit softer and i cooked it harddddd!! The clutch smelt all the way home and when my car was in the garage the smell was there for at least an hour.

Did i wear out my clutch alot just then? And why would the clutch stick to the floor????

with your pedal stuck to the ground, this sounds like a hydraulic problem (master cylinder or slave cylinder or both). Yes other cars use a cable clutch but skyline uses hydraulic.

To get your master cylinder reconditioned with new seals and stainless steel sleeve if needed is about 70-100 per cylinder. Mechanic can do this for you or you can give it a go yourself, i tried it myself and ended up stuffing up the master cylinder again so for $200 or so save the hassle and let a mechanic get it going for you.

With the clutch - any idea on the wear on it? is it new? old? due for replacement?

I had the same problem in my daily driver ( aus R31 ) about 3 months ago although I wasnt caining it. Just driving along and all of a sudden the pedal went to the floor.

Stuck my foot under it and popped it back up.

Never had a problem and it hasnt happened since.

yeah dude, i had same prob in r33 gtst. Went to do burnout with some mates in the car, revved, dumped clutch and car didn't move at all just revved like shit. Went to put clutch in and realised it was still stuck all the way down. Same thing, just popped out after a few secs and smelled like shit. Clutch then started taking heaps far out. That was a few months ago and i've been nice to it since. Still i think the clutch is gone and probably a hydraulic problem.

Let us know what yours turns out to be man

Cheers

He means the clutch wont engage or grab until the peddle is almost out at its furthest point.

Check your clutch fluid level.

I had the same problem in one of my Integras, it was the clutch master cylinder..

Yeah my friend had a similar problem with his DCR2, but his clutch has done 100,000+! so its due for replacement, anyways he couldn't put it into gear, then we got it checked,

the clutch fluid was low, they topped it up, no problem since and his still driving dunno how the hell the clutch is lasting so long for him, he drives CRAZY!

Kriminal this happened to me 2 nights ago. My car is still off the road and had my mechanic have a quick look at it at home (didnt jack up the car), he said possibly the clutch fork is bent broken or out of place, or maybe the pressure plate has collapsed

did something the same went to pop it and then found that I couldnt select gears (no clutch) waited for it to cool, no good, I had to drive home with no clutch so learnt to match rev quick. Found problem to be that pressure plate weled its self. Came unstuck with some help from 2nd gear

Yepo, this happened to me only 3 weeks ago..

Took car to mechanic, 2 things were wrong..

1) I had a tiny slit in the rubber connect hose from clutch cylinder to master cylinder pipe..that needed replacing $15....(situated under car, under drivers seat)

2)the actual steel pipe that holds the clutch fluid from master cylinder (under the hood) down along firewall to the slave cylinder, under the car was not in the master cylinder far enought therefore, air was getting in under pressure, therefore clutch went floppy...

    • Drilled the rubber out on a slow speed and it didn't catch much at all. Probably only half a dozen holes was enough to shred the rubber and it dropped off easily leaving the inner sleeve behind. Will tackle that later
    • I havent bought a manual cover for the dash yet and no cluster change, won't bother me too much, I just need to get that auto box gone, manual in! I miss my manual. 🤪. We started last weekend and managed to get the box out. Planning to start putting it in this weekend and then order a single piece tail. We were super careful to take time and not damage anything. It's my first time working under the car.  With my S15 mainly worked in the bay. This time, it was a headache because of three or four bolts only. They simply didnt want to leave thei homr and the one securing the tailshaft, another above the GB, and the one securing the lipstick was a shit. Mates mate, Davo caught fire 🤣, nearly opened his chest up with a grinder 🤦🏽‍♂️ and both mates nearly had a plate from the box land and slit their head open. Fun times. We all survived. Not the easiest working with limited access on jackstands. As I'm sure we can agree these are the memories which make us love our car. For all three of us, was an awesome weekend and Sunday 3.30am before tools down was a fantastic effort. I need to upload pics, but looks like it needs to be via Url now. We used to be able to just upload pics back in the day. It's been that long! 🤪 Im currently spraying rustoleum under body, not because it's rusted. It's super clean, but just so it's protected for the next 10 years. There was a few surface rust spots. Which pretty much wiped off with a 3M scourer.  Really impressed with how well the previous owner maintained it. Bank account went down so quick! Service, then GB - managed to get a spanking new 34 genuine box from Nissan. All the rest of the conversion parts from Kudos.  Went with a Nismo short shifter. New pedals and Exedy Clutch and FW. Ordered the Prp Rear Main Retainer kit which should arrive Friday and my first engine mod part just like I did with my S15 will be the Tomei Expreme Turbo Outlet. Already on order. It'll likely sleep next to me on a pillow during the coming months. 🥰 Last build was on my JET200GT profile and on SAU and Hardtuned I had documented the build. Planning to try to do that again. Brands feel scarce now. Wish we still had ARC and Apexi parts readily available. Exhaust - need some advice on this. I had an Apexi exhaust on the S15 and loved the tone. My mate had a HKS HP Silent on his 33 and suggested I go with that to avoid drone. I can't remember hearing an RB25DET running that so will likely need to wait for a meet or something to hear it.  Not after big power, just enjoy building it, and drivability with minimal negative attention.
    • Have a chat with Ben at Moore Performance or Jesse at JS Performance.
    • Thanks both. All good advice. Reminds me of drilling through stone wall for drainage pipe 😬 I'll let you know how I get on if I still have use of my hands afterwards 😅
