If anyone can help.   I need to know the part number a windshield for an R33 skyline (2 door).  I live in the states and have an R33.  the windshield was cracked when i recieved the car.  Will a mid 90's Q45 windshield work, or possibly one from a J-30?  Thanks!

The chances are slim that the windshield from those other cars will fit. I had a quick look in FAST and there are a number of alternative PN's for the windshield depending on the year of manufacture of your car. Post up the VIN of your car and we should be able to identify the correct PN.

Thanks. The "vin" on the bulkhead says "HR33-015960". I work for Infiniti and also own www.j-specdirect.com. Neither have been much help to me with this situation! :P Hopefully this is the right number. This car origionally was an RB20E model, we did an RB25DET conversion (minus the hubs). Thanks for yoru help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I won't be able to do anything until I'm back at work on Monday (Sunday your time, I think).

The genuine part is likely to be pretty expensive unless there's a local (US) equivalent.

Another possibility is to contact an Australian parts supplier who might be able to help, example:

Cheers

PS Don't have any VQ45DE's lying around ?? :)

STEVEL--- I'd gladly work a trade on some VQ45DE's for a few RB30E's. :) I've built one RB30DETT so far, and it was just crazy! I'd love to have a few more. I can get VH45DE (90-93) for about $1400.00 US runnings, and $700.00 US core, 94'-96' VH45DE for $1400.00 US running, $900.00 core and the new (2002-later) VK45DE running $3600.00. I might have one that smokes (ITB01-070) that just needs some new rings (failed oil consumption test, but compression is top notch). Brand new VK45DE is $7500.00 US from the dealer. Anyway, doubt you needed all that info, just figured I'd say it all at once. Thanks for helping me with this windshield problem!

HR33-015960

That VIN is not recognised by FAST. Check the blue ID plate attached to the firewall. I suspect the actual VIN number is:

ECR33-015960

Certainly that is recognised by FAST and it gives the following PN for the front windshield glass:

72712-22U10 (for a 8/93-1/95 R33 GTS25t Type M coupe)

BUT you really need to double check the VIN.

i think his car will be HR33 as its was a non turbo 2 ltr H designates the engine used

Yeh, that plus the fact that he says it was originally RB20DE powered, but now has an RB25DET installed

Anyway, that VIN isn't recognised by my version of FAST. But I suspect coupe windshields will be the same regardless of engine, and the same would be true for sedans.

Yep,

I checked my FAST system, and sure enough, that part # is good, though it superceeds to a 72712-24U00. It doesnt show for any vehicle here, though its only one letter off from another vehicle. It also measures remarkably close to the windshield in the new Pontiac GTO....I believe you guys call them a Holden. Anyway, I'd gladly buy one from you, if your willing to ship several thousand miles. Oh, and I pay with bank checks for anything overseas, so no worries about a canceled credit card order. If you could help me, I'd be appreciative!

I must admit I'm scratching my head as to why you didn't look it up yourself since you have access to FAST

Anyway, why not just order the windshield through a Nissan dealer ??

Unfortunately, here in the states, they are strict about autoparts from other countries. I mean, yes, we can get used parts in under the assumption that they will be used for "race and off road use", but nothing new unless you have buddies outside the country. I couldnt look up my VIN either, as Nissan USA has only the models avaiable here....though it did recognize the part number when I did a part# search. As for ordering it, the local Nissan dealer (or any dealer here for that matter) cant order something if they dont have it available on an american model. Yeap, we can see the part#, but thats it....no parts illistrations, no price lists, nothing. Without that, all the places I've found wont let you order it. Infiniti, has Infininet, which uses an AS400 system. So even though it shows the "order quantity" icon on FAST, we cant use it, as it is not linked to the Infininet, therefore making it an unrecognized part number. Land of the FREE, remember that....till you need one stinkin part and you cant get it! LOL Anyway, thanks for all your help!

I understand your problem, but as a private individual I'm not 'set up' for doing this sort of thing. I'd suggest getting in touch with some of the Oz parts importers, I'm sure that you'll find one that's going to be able to help:

Nope!Sedans have a diffrent screen....i know this coz i have put 4 door fronts on 2 doors before and i cant use the A pillars because of this reason.....they splay out wider on the top and are about 100mm taller

I meant that 2-door windscreens would be the same regardless of engine, and the same would be true for sedans (ie all sedan windscreens are likely the same). I didn't mean that 2-door windscreens were the same as sedan windscreens.

    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
    • @GTSBoy yeah sorry i know thery are known for colors bud those DBA are too in colors 🙂 Green will be good enough for me
