Nice car, I think if it were lowered it would finish it right off.

How are you finding the cop attention with the boot lid? I almost bought one, but was told if I were rear ended the other person’s insurance won’t cover the damage due to the carbon parts not meeting ADR’s..

Meets ADRs:confused: Possible, but the bootlid would absorb kack sh1t energy. Its the bumper bar and its mounting to the chassis that surely absorbs/transfers the energy, or maybe not?!?!? I suppose it is a big picture thing, and it could play a part, but straight off the bat doesnt sound right.

Still want to know where to get one from, id like one provided they aint to exxy:)

How much lighter does this boot weigh compared to the factory one?

I am sure it would be the rear bar and its reinforcement that would have to comply with ADR's, as they would generally be the first point of contact in the event of an accident.

Roy and NXTIME, you are both right in what your saying. I’m speaking from my findings. NRMA almost didn’t cover my stock GTR bonnet.. As it wasn’t a factory item (was on a Gtst) when some clown backed into it at Safeway. Their argument was it didn’t meet ADR blah blah blah, after a quick call from the lawyer all was fixed, seeing it was a stock factory bonnet after all.

I would check with your insurance to be on the safe side, for example Shannon’s won’t let me run a carbon bonnet and engine hatch cover on the Porsche due to what I said in my first post.

Hey thanks for commetns...

FIrst up with engine bay water question.. the only time this thing would get water in the bay when driving would be at lights or parked.. driving aint a prob the water wouldnt get in.. dont relaly know if its that bad if it did??

WEll bootlid is a heap lighter.. took original off and put this one on.. next morning released boot down main st and bang lock in the other way adn bent hte spring came up that quick.. had to drive 15km home with the lid up.. got home and took a spring out now works good..

i say about 2-3kg instead of liek 8-10 with the spooiler..

    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
    • I do have loctite 243 and 246 and a few more models. I could drill it now in place and make new threads for m12 and order an4 - m12 coupling and fit that to the turbo. Run a braided hose to the EBC which I could get a an4 to 1/8npt
