any1 know if justcar's roadworthy policy applies throughout Aus or just with the state's laws ?

we all know each state has different rules about car mods etc. but i wanted to know if justcar's roadworthy policy was different in every state. or do justcar extract all of the state's law and use them as a whole.

coz i rang up justcar letting them know that i've applied stickers onto my car. the customer service rep said the stickers must be roadworthy etc otherwise i will not be payed in the event of a claim. i kinda freaked out from here since i never knew stickers "may" be seen as a defect.

also, any1 here have vicroad's technical support email or ph no. ? please dont give me the one off the site as ive used it many times to ask questions and none of the responses they gave me answered my question directly.

any help would be good.

Stickers that are on the car and non reflective and don't obscure vision would be ok.

I think they're kinda disclaiming themselves agains't idiots who put fat ass'ed ye olde english "HONDA" and "HOLDEN" stickers on their cars that cover half the windshield.

If it's not against the law, then it should be.

Reflective stickers can be a real distraction when they reflect the sun into your face.

It's no different to driving behind those morons who think it's a good idea to hang those crystal orb things off their rear view mirror...... ever been stuck in traffic behind someone who has one of those?

If you're compelled to rice your car, do it in a way that doesn't affect other road users around you... sometimes all you need is common sense. :)

when ever i called Justcars to ask question's i always get different answears from different reps. it might be a good idea to call the second time "even thought it's annoying that you have to wait" to ask the same question and you'll see what i mean, specially if there new on there job.

One thing to note as I have friends working in insurance is that if you enquire about something for you car in the past, they will have the information in front of them on the screen.

eg. rang on friday.. can I have these 18" wheels on my car? can I have a learner driver drive it?

Claim on sunday... I crashed my car...

The first thing they'll check in detail is the wheels, and who was driving

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
