Cams for RB25DET

Hi Guys,

I am willing to purchase , sorry Perth only, 5 sets of cam gears. It doesn't matter whether anyone else decides to do it aswell, because me and my mate have enough performance cars to fit these to. Those of you in Perth can let me know which type of cam gear your interested in and I will provide them at the cost price that I can get them for, no markup from me.

I do however want to find the best cam gear for the money, as yet we have only heard rumors as to the reliability of the HKS gears, if anyone has more info then please let us know. Toda is as yet unknown, but I expect a response from Sub-zero Monday that may give us better insight.

I think it would be great if GT N1K and Meggala can provide other options for people interested in cam gears, I don't think anyone of us know the definitive answer but at least we are working together to find the best product at a competitive price.

I think that everyone that has contributed to this thread has had the right intention, get as much information to the people and then let them make an informed decision. Thanks to all who are contributing.

I got a response back from Sub-zero about the HKS vs. Toda.

the Toda gears are alot better than hks because of the aluminium they are made

of..

Toda is 7000 series alloy

HKS is 6000 series alloy  

Sub-zero

I am not happy with the price they offered, so I'll continue to screw the price down. Currently nengun is cheaper, and I've ask him to see if he can get other types of cam gears.

Anyone else have a possible source?

I got a source quoting that Tomei is very reliable and prices will be coming this week. This particular mechanic claims that HKS isn't that bad, they are aluminium which tends to wear faster and then slip, but onli eventuali - a matter of 2 yrs if street driven & not tracked all the time. I tink tomei or jun might b the go - just gotta wait 4 prices now. I also received toda prices from Subzero - wat a rip!!

p/s dyno pushed till 2morow - a few more hrs and i'll have results 4 u all.
