why is it that babelfish doens't ever work with yahoo auctions any more?

Its an issue with Systran, the translation engine used by Babelfish. I have the latest version of the standard alone 'premium' Systran, and its rubbish for Yahoo JP: its buggy, frequently crashes, and half the time can't translate the pages. I don't know what they changed since the previous version -- which worked perfectly with Yahoo JP -- but now both the stand alone and Babelfish versions are crap.

I personally find Google the most useful. If you use Firefox, get the Translate extension, add it to your toolbar as a button (I sit it in between the URL and search areas) and simlpy click it to translate using Google (or click and select the language to use Babelfish). It also has some nice features like highlighting text, right clicking and having a translate option in the menu that appears.

']hey,

I was wondering if one of you fellow sau japan members would be able to help out an sau -wa member :) im currently seraching for an safc II for my car; i have a buyer who can get me one (or bid on one) but they will charged me 10% on tottal cost  plus there buyer in japan will charge him 10% so i will also have to pay that. now i dont really mind but if the item goes over my max bid then im out (my max bid isnt very high as i have to factor in other cost inc shipping/buyer fee etc etc)

So whats my point..? Well would one of you kind japan sau members like be my buyer :P basic u bid on the item for me (i will you max bid) once it is won i send u western union money transfer (i think its the best and safest way) then u get the item sent to you then you sent it to me

im guessing not alot of people will be up for doing such a thing as it is a timely process but if someone is plz pm me

thankyou michael

i'm interested in buying this:

http://www.worldlingo.com/wl/translate?wl_...ion%2Fe45820870

but I'm guessing (from the crap translation) that it's sold on an exchange basis. can anyone confirm this?

The translator I recommend to people is just to select 'Langauge Tools' from Google. Works easily. You can bookmark the link and just add the Jap URL on the end once you get the hang of it.

As I said above, if you use Firefox just grab the translate extension: its uses google :D

Here's one I haven't figured out: is there a way to string together searches with the "and" / "or" operators: e.g. I want to search for "gtr OR gt-r"?

LW.

To search for GT-R or GTR I just use GT (case doesnt matter). It brings up some irrelevant stuff, but its not hard to figure out which ones are what you are after. If there is ever any items that you are searching for but cant find the Jap text for just send me an email (if its not on the Yahoo Links page off my site).

    • Robertson was a Canadian inventor, and it absolutely reigns supreme here. 95% of our screws are Roberston. It's literally the only option you can buy off store shelves. What would it have lost out too? I believe it's also very popular in the US.  My reference to imperial was pointed to both NPT and BSP.
    • No. BSP lost to the cultural/technical imperialism of living next to Trumpistan. Face it, Robertson screws were better and still pretty much lost out to the yank stuff. The Europeans hate the Brits and they don't use NPT. NPT is just as "imperial" as BSP is, being based on those useless inch thingos. Just done differently.
    • I live in Quebec. Our license plate slogan is "Je me souviens" Translated is "We will remember" as a reminder to when England conquered us and that we must never forget what they did. Long story short, BSP is unheard of here due to being an English design. I'm surprised our nazi anti english government office the OQLF hasn't kicked in my door yet just talking about it, yet alone imperial anything.
    • Thanks for that! I did a quick Google search looked up some of hydaulic stores and didn't see it listed on the website, I'll give them a ring. Also found out later that I can buy 2 oem bleeder bolts for 10 bux and come with the washer which I might do so I don't waste the money it costs in petrol to find 2 washers (already did that lol). The old copper washes look in good nick, I drove it after taking it off and putting it back on and didn't see any  Part number here for reference if anyone needs: 14053-42L0A
