Hi, I did a search but couldn't find a related topic.

In the last month or so I have had people sending me a PM - usually a reply to something I sent them at least a week prior. They are saying "Did you get my PM"? Which I didnt get.

Basically some PM's are coming through to me and some are not - my inbox is only half full.

This problem has already caused me to receive a NEGATIVE Trader Rating from NED because he thought I was ignoring him - I simply did not get his pm's. Now I am stuck with 1 negative rating out of 22 and I want it removed!!!

Has happened to me so far with these users [trying to send me a pm]:

  1. ned
  2. hiroshima_screamers

there are at least 1 or 2 others but can't remember their usernames.

Here's a sample of a PM I got today from hiroshima:

Hey Dale

Did you getg my last message??

I have typed out a REALLY detailed massage about the brake pads for you, dont tell me it never got to you...

Regards,

Jim

To which I replied:
Hey Jim,

I am starting to get sick of these PM's - I seem to be not receiving quite a few lately. I dont know what is going wrong! My inbox is nowhere near full, so thats not the problem.

If you want, go into your sent items and copy / paste the PM msg and email it to me: [email protected] - email changed to protect the innocent!

I always reply back to people so If I get something and especially if you asked me questions I would have responded by now!

Sorry mate,

Thanks

Dale

I am not actually certain whether some ppl are not getting my pm's??? How would I know?

I am now resorting to giving out my email address instead! Something must be broken and needs attention :P

Can someone check this out?

Thanks

Dale

I had no problems with your PM's. If your not receiving the PM's at all this won't help, but I think the option to cancel the read receipt should be removed/turned off (ie the pop-up that asks you to acknoweldge the senders PM for tracking purposes). I mean FFS if you've read the PM that's it, and the tracking should show that automatically - why have the option to cancel ?? There's probably some obscure reason but I can't see it.....

Also can I send negative feedback on some of the 'phantom' buyers on these forums ??....the ones that 'want want want', but disappear into the woodwork when you send them details and don't even give the courtesy of a 'no thanks' or whatever. Sort of got to be expected I suppose, but gets up my nose a bit...... :P

thanks steve.

Yeah the weird part is i get MOST pm's but not all of them!

I always click on the OK button to let ppl know I have read their's - and I do agree it should either be FORCED or not an option :P

thanks steve.

I'm calm now :D

Anyway, maybe get the guys that sent the PM's to forward a copy to admin plus any tracking info......if they've still got them of course.

Good Luck....bump.

    • Yeah i found that alot of parts can be wrong or "very" hard to get the real right one. I already bought some brakes years ago on me "old" GT calipers and they were wrong too 😄  I told them too. Even send them pictures...but they said "EBC catalogue has them on my car... So i dont know what their answer will be. I call monday them and let them know that they are really not on my car. If they were they would be already on a car...
    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?
    • Oh What the hell, I used to get a "are you sure you want to reply, this thread is XX months old" message. Maybe a software update remove that. My bad.
    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
