Maximum Tyre width 17x7 rim can squeeze

Hi, can anyone advise what the maximum tyre width a 17x7 rim can squeeze. I know they can easily hold 235, but how about 255? Cheers

Just as a guide:

6.5" is 205-225 - 205 is recommended for cornering, as 225 will have a lot of sidewall flex, but 225 would be good for drag.

7 is 205-225

8 is 225-235 (keep in mind the r32 gtr wheels are 8 inches wide, and are recommended to use 205 or 225)

In regards to your wheels, you can probably squeeze 275 on, but it'll handle like shit.

I have 8.5" and use 235. i think 255 is gonna have way too much sidewall on 7".

I'd go with 215.

For an 8" rim 245 is the maximum legal limit.
