Who did you pay in Japan and you should of been emailed the auction papers, if you paid the money for the car to the Broker you bought the car off him not Japan according to Dept of Fair Trading.

i sourced the car out myslef, i got given no auction papers i just saw it on another site, it was an auction listing and i told him thats the car im intersted in, soo bid for me. as for the money goes i paid it all to him, i stil didnt get any auction papers of any sort or have seen any at all of my car., in that case i would have bought the car off him, hence does this mean that he is now liable for the damages???

this is confusing me, i know its not his fault but i do believe that he is party responsible because he didnt arrange the service of safe tranportation, when i said that i would pay extra for the far bar to be taken off. soo i think he is liable a there.

this is all f*cked, i just want my front bar fixed, and he better deliver a cheap prices too. as for service goes, im happy with everything, just that he couldnt provide a simple request.

buying a car without seeing the auction report is very dodgy. Paying money to your broker when he doesnt own the car is very dodgy. Someone you have hired not following out your instructions is very dodgy.

gl with your car :D

I dunno how some of these brokers seem to get away with doing nothing in exchange for vast quantities of cash. I source cars for people over here in the UK. People tell me what they want. I then do all the auction searching, get vehicles inspected, get auction reports translated and only if the person wants me to bid on a car for them do I take a £500 depo. Then I get the car inspected again before shipping and then the person pays me 50% to get it boarded. Then, they don't pay me anything else until they've had a chance to inspect the car here in the UK.

If there's a good reason for it being turned down then they get their money back (so no risk to the customer). If there are small issues like cracked spoiers then I get them sorted for them. Only when they take delivery of the car do they pay the balance. The way I see it, I earn my meagre profit by being the one to do all the legwork, stump up money up front and hence take the risk on cars, and get everything sorted (new tyres and all that) for the buyer so they don't have to do anything at all to get what they want.

I guess that makes me more than a broker - I'm assuming all a broker does is handle the financial transactions and take a cut?

i uderstand that he was under preussure because of the 15 yr old rule and every1 was going crazy, but the car is here and the if i dont see the same FOB price on the auction sheet when he hand me over the car, il cerrtain ask and raise all these questions.

the car is here now, so i know that hes done his job, but its seems alil dodge to me too. i think i just have to wait and see.

Cheers Sumo. Prob is I'll never be rich and I spend months worrying about every car I supply! It's bloody stressful when you want to do the right thing for people and see smiley faces. And it truly pisses me off when I seen some guys living the life of Riley purely because they take the piss, while at the same time I've developed more wrinkles on my face in the last 5 years than my grandma did in 80 years.

My passion is cars though, which is probably why I do more on them than perhaps I should, so it's a good job my Mrs works as well to feed the nippers. Sometimes I think that I could skimp on buying a set of tyres at £500 and instead go on holiday, but somehow I always end up at the tyre place moments later!

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
    • Also wanted to say, my new spark plugs are blackened looks like it's very rich. I have splitfire coilpacks but stock coilpack loom and ignitor. I tried directly grounding the ignitor ground to body as well.
