  2. Im studying mechatronics, so i guess i can just wait until what field im going to specialized in and join then. hopefully i have a job by then. market aren't looking so good :S
  3. so is it worth the $400 when i grad mid next year? my lecturer keeps telling me to "HOLD ONTO YOUR MEMBERSHIP" blah blah. to be honest i think IEEE is better for its international recognition. advice for a poor uni student here.
  4. let me finish my exams.... got a few ideas that i can work on it during my spare time
  5. you cant see the beam of laser used on hand held with a naked eye. f**k im really pissed off that the system. guilty until proven innocent, the only way u can get out of it is go to court where time and money is required. i got told that if every1 contested their speeding infringement in court, speed cameras will be off the streets within a month. 1. you take 1 camera operator to court (taking 1 cam off the street) for the day. reducing revenue that the cam could have made. 2. you plea guilty + court fees so it cost you 120 bux, i think but it cost the government $5k + would love to see theory put to test.
  6. i know they have a red lens, but they still flash. point is i didn't see it flash.
  7. can any1 confirm this please :S .
  8. just on a quick note, has any1 seen a camera that doesn't flash?, i was driving on the freeway home at about 3am and probably doing just over the limit approx 110 when i notice a red light on the corner of my eye. it was spotted heading north between canning hwy and mill point. i hope im just paranoid and eyes playing tricks on me when im tired and it not something new that the cops are using, im certain it didn't flash like the usual pulse, more of the red led shine so to speak. :S
  9. nice race.....but not a good comparison. Im just laughing at the fact that they are comparing the GTR in a class that's WAY above than whats its meant to be competing with. for them to compare the GTR in that class is a big insult to Porsche, Ferrari, Lambo and even Audi. A car thats meat to be competing with a fast sports car such as a 911 (i dont really class the 911 as a super car and certainly not the GTR either). first it was a comparison to the LP460, then the R8 etc etc. for gods sake the 599 has a V12! Point here is that most manufacturer can make a car that will go fast in a straight line, corners well etc. But at the end of the day it comes at a cost and what customers they want to be targeting. we dont have 6 figures income, nor have $25000 to insure our cars every year (my mates was tell me about this guy he knows who pays 25k on insurance for his Ferrari) point is the GTR is something really special, its got the performance that can rival most super cars but none of the price tag. you can actually afford this thing if you really want it. So its not exclusive to the super rich. Good on Corvette for a great car. I just hope Nissan doesn't go soft with the V-spec like they've done with the r32-34. just strip the weight, strengthen the drive trains and add more Ponnies. dont forget Honda is working hard on their new NSX and i think Toyota is meant to be working on a Supra project too. These are rivals to the GTR so its would be interesting couple of years ahead.
  10. this happen to my mates car, check for a small hairline leak in the pipes, it only leak under pressure hence it was hard to find what the prob was. fill it up, run it warm and listen to where its coming out of, should be a heater or radiator pipe near the clamps.
  11. when was this cruise on??? i was up at the zig zag with my mates 300zx last sat around mid day
  12. most new cars are speed limited towards the aero and handling issue. (safety wise, i dont think its very safe doing speeds past 200kmph road or track) at high speed u have such a high drag force which creates lift ,thus resulting , as most of us here experience one time or another where it feel's like we have no steering p.s most of our tyres are actually speed rated with either V or W meaning they are rated to speed up to 240km/h or 270km/h receptively. i wouldnt want to test it though.
  13. i just rang them, 255/40/17 have gone up to $158 each
  14. hyperdrive in malaga quoted me 3k 2.5years ago. give them a buzz.
  15. tried west state. dunno got the 300ish mark. best perth prices so far is 229 for maxxis MAV1. with postage thats still pretty cheap, want to share the postage cost with me levinet? i need 2 for the rears too dam camber wear, i dont want to get camber arms since its at a perfect 2 deg on mine
  16. hi all i need some new rear tires and in the past ive manage to get some pretty decent tires for good prices. have any1 changed their tires recently and know what to recommend and where to buy it from? i used to get quoted on sumitomo htr z3 for $235 now its like they have all gone up and you can only get china tyres for that price. thanks
  17. 84ULP is the part number a cpc fuel cap. i think they are about $20 from your local auto store. replacing the cap reduced the smell of fuel on my car, but still *shhhhhhhhhhhh* on a hot day. fuel does evaporate at a very low temp so i dont worry about it too much, worst things is having highly compressed fumes in your car and getting a static spark when u are fueling up, so losing approx 20ml of fuel through a non tight cap isnt much of a waste/risk. btw how many kms do u get out of a full tank?
  18. intake pipe on the r32 is slightly shorter mate. if u have a short pod it should fit.
  19. has he check if there is a boost leak, my mates air/fuel problem was a result of a boost leak on his zx. and is the afm giving u correct readings. im sure you tunner would have picked up those things if it was :S
  20. WTF. i could have bet my testicles in certainty that the r34 never came out with the rb20. thank god i found this little piece of info. now time to start a convo with my mates and wage a few $$$ btw for the miss-advertising u can take it up with him and see if u can negotiate a price difference of some sort since its misleading statements.
  21. thumbs down for 2 seater, so i wouldn't go for the 350z. thumbs up for the v35 though, what i see is virtually the same car with 2 extra seat for small midgets at the back, not roomy but its does make a difference. go for the r34 if u want mods. gluck with your decision and really think it through, the mod bug is quite contagious and it hits hard. so if u even consider modding it one bit. go for the r34. practically the v35 is a much better choice for the 2 extra seats. thats my personal opinion. other than that, they are all very nice/fast good reliable cars.
  22. zeitgeist is one of the most interesting doco/movie ive ever seen. i would recommended to any1, it will open up your eyes quite a bit. if u guys got a spare 2 hours watch zeitgeist, make u really wonder what kind of banking system society works under.
  23. only damage i did was to my ears, had it the dump pipe only, getting the cat welded on. i think i lost about 10% of my hearing after going down Reid at 90km :S
