Interesting debate isn't it?

I spend my time doing IT support for two different govt agencies that are both directly involved in the airline business, so I get to talk to a lot of people in the industry.

I had a conversation with someone recently who had worked as a baggage handler, and he asked me if I thought she was guilty.

I said the thing that I couldn't work out was, if it sounds so ridiculous that she would try to take drugs into Bali where they are actually cheaper, why would anybody else want to smuggle it in her luggage?

He smiled and said "Well that's easy to explain - nobody was trying to smuggle the drugs into Bali." "They have been moving drugs grown in Qld down to Sydney and other places via passenger baggage for years." "Someone puts it in the baggage in Brisbane, someone else takes it off at the other end, the passengers are usually none the wiser". "Occasionally someone stuffs up at the receiving end, which is what happened in October last year".

"Everybody in the industry knows she's not guilty....."

He went on to explain that when he first started working as a baggage handler he was offered $6000 in the first 3 weeks, just to turn a blind eye to certain activities.

With all of the security that has been put in place at airports over the last few years someone forgot about the baggage handlers. Apparently they have just started conducting proper backgound checks on existing staff, and more than 50% of those checked have some sort of criminal record.

At first i use to think she was not guilty, but just over the past couple of days i have heard a couple of stories to make me think she might be guilty.

1) a friend was having a kitchen done and the guy putting in the kitchen was talking about the case and said he was installing a kitchen for another couple a few weeks ago who told him that they actually did a drug deal with schappelle and her brother a few years ago in byron bay.

2) was telling this story to a mate who's girlfriend is a cop and he said yeah his girlfriend said both her and her brother are well known up and sown the east coast for dealing drugs.

The media is only going to push one side of the story. guillty or not no australian media or government officials are going to condemn an australian to death. had she been trialled in australia alot more about her history/background would have come out.

just my 2 cents.

    • Resizing injectors in Nistune can be done a couple of ways, and there are a couple of ways that you can make a mess of it. The tuner needs to be really aware of the effects of whichever approach he uses (either K, or TIM). They are both easy enough to "get the injector size right" to run the engine. But little details like old start enrichment and hot start are affected differently, depending on which boxes you check.
    • Pretty safe to say almost everyone that has tuned their own car has experienced this issue. The difference being that we have our laptop in the car and when it happens, it's literally 10 seconds of tuning to sort it.  Would you be happy to plug in your laptop and sort this yourself? It is a very simple process and there is no risk of harming your engine (if you are worried about that).
    • Yeah thats the next step now, either they wil or i will take out for a drive to work and go straight their after work and see is we get the same issues 🤞  thought i try my luck here too, never know someone else might have had the same issue but thanks for the reply
    • Basically your tuner needs to drive it for the 30 min (or whatever) to create the same conditions then check the ECU settings and sensors at that time. They may not be excited to because that takes them 30 min rather than just opening the bonnet and seeing the problem straight away.... Hot start is generally not as tricky as cold start, but there would be a table for fuel enrichment vs coolant temp as a starting point
    • Yeah, they all cant say anything for sure as everything is working fine . Said unable to find an issue untill it stops again. Could mist likely be CAS wiring or IAS valve issue but again not 100%
