Hi..

My standard steering wheel (along with probably the majority of R32 GTST owners) is all peeling and crap.

So I went out looking for a new steering wheel and found a few I like.

Then it came to the boss kit..

What's the deal?? I've been told by all the places I checked that the boss kit for my car is different to the standard ones they have for sale due to the HICAS on my car.

So basically instead of paying $70 for a standard boss kit, I've been told that it is going to cost closer to about $180 JUST FOR A BOSS KIT...!!!

Can any of you R32 GTST owners out there tell me different?

Have you changed your steering wheel? boss kit?

where did you go? how much did you get it for?

if you know any places in sydney, I'd really appreciate your help.

thanks.

i have a solution, get rid of hicas...

some guy was sellinghis r32 that previously had hicas but he had it removed, so i guess he would know where to get it removed...

my mate has a silva with it, and he said sometimes the tyre people look at his tyres when there changing them and give him weird looks as to hwy they die in certain ways... ohwell.. just a thought

You know the only difference with a non hicas to a hicas boss kit is a peice of plastic at the the back of it so it can turn the sensor. Its a load of shit to pay extra for a peice of plastic that is only worth 2c. I couldnt beleive when I compared the two of them.

I got a spare one for a 32 if anyone would like to purchase it.

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
