Hey guys just fitting the new FMIC which is pretty much the same as a hybrid one. I am using the hybrid intructions *PLEASE SEE ATTACHMENT*. and am just wanting to know what others have done with the carbon canister i am pretty sure that is it as in the photo that hole goes straight through where it is at the moment. I guess i can possibly move it back further but yea any help would be appreciated.

the carbon canister is at the front of the engine bay on the right hand side, near the air filter.

Are you sure it isn't the oil filter you are talking about? coz thats about the only thing on the engine side corresponding to the pic you have posted

thanks for the post lazy-bastard um now i am a little lost the oil filter is just on the side of the block isnt it ??? this is a black canister looking thing i will try and get some photos of it but yea basically when you take the front bar off it is on the driver side screwed onto the wall which as shown in the picture needs to be cut out ??? so i am a little lost

hmm after alot of searching and comparing engine bay photos i am 100% sure it is my carbon canister i do have one question though are the put in in japan or only when they come across to australia as my canister defiantly has a made in australia on it so i am guessing it was done at compliance ???

anyways lazy are the 2 photos attached what you are refering to as the carbon canister...

Your thinking that the hole has to be made on the wrong side.

If its Hybrid style the hole needs to be made on the other side underneath the water resivoir.

The canister does not need to be moved nor will it be in the way.

The piping will replace the upper pipe that goes from the intake to return over the radiator fan and curve down underneath the water resivoir.

on the canister side of the intercooler it will meet up with the one origional pipe ramaining.

Yeah Leigh, that is the carbon canister I was referring to.

As Slide said, you are bringing the return pipe up the wrong side of the engine. It comes up the left hand side of the engine bay and crosses over between the fan and the front of the engine.

thanks for the replys guys i understand what you are saying but it looks like either through complaince or some guy over in japan may have relocated it or else i am just retarted i will take some photos of it later today and post it up but see the attached pic which you posted slide i have put a red circle around where the black canister.

The canister is on the passenger side. You are going to make the hole in the drivers side.

Have a look at your own pics.

Enjoy

ahhhhhhhh i am going crazy i know the hole has to go on the drivers side but the canister is ON THE DRIVERS SIDE ;) thats it i am getting photo's in like 2 hours hehe i will post em up to show you what i mean

I know what you mean leech hehe Your talking about the big black canistor on the drivers side. (circled in thepic???) Mine has it there as well if that isnt where its supposed to be.. ?

To save your sanity.. slap the intercooler up, if its in the way just move it somewhere else its only got like 1 or 2 bolts holding it on. My intercooler has the intake/return pipes going in the same direction, so it isnt a problem for me.. but it does look like it would get in the way...hmm

Have it relocated to the passenger side where it should be.

Ive seen complianced lines that have them on the radiator support at the front and at the back over the turbo hanging off the strut tower but never on the drivers side because the line comes out near the aircon comp and up the side of the radiator whether it be at the front or back out on the drivers side?

Your cars weird but awaiting pics

justin yea i am saying mine is about where that silver thing is showing in yours maybe a little higher but not much. Anyways got some photo's on the gf's camera but dont have the software at my place i will get her to email them to me tomorrow morning and should have them up by 11ish hopefully :)

its the canister, some are biggger even 3 times the size of most.

Ide move it to the corner at the back right hand side (some have abs here)

All of the bigger ones ive seen were mounted near the turbo but away from the heat ill post pics when i can take one

    • Haha, i kow right? Could have bought so many cars for the same amount of money (or less) but driving Unicorn gives you at least +1mln to style 😅. Like wise man said "life's to short to drink cheap wine and drive boring cars" 😉
    • Newbie here, proud owner of an Autech 260RS. I'm on the hunt for wiring diagrams specific to the 260RS, particularly S1. I've ran my eyes through R33, R34 Diagrams, there are some similarities, however continue to find incorrect wire colours and pins on connectors in the 33,34 diagrams.   I was hoping someone could point me in the right direction? I'd be happy to pay for the originals in Japanese. I can translate them, at least they would be accurate.   Any help please would be greatly appreciated, never heard an RB26DETT before let alone driven one, and I've got a spaghetti monster of goodness to sort out.   Cheers Benny
    • Hey all  im wondering if you can help me please I have put a rb20 box in my r34 gtt as my auto packed up and a friend had a spare box I know it’s not ideal but it will get me up and running for now. we have done the conversation and everything is working great but my Speedo we got a s13 speed sensor but my Speedo reads double now and I bought a speed converter but still not having any luck.  so I thought I’ll reach out and pick your brains  any help would be appreciated please as I wanna drive my car again
    • Drain it. I got official Matic D but you can get whatever is listed as Matic D compatible.
    • Thanks guys,  Yeah I should at least have them dynoed, at least then I know what I've got as a starting point.  The springs on these are hard as rocks. I vaguely remember Russman saying he was going to sell the shocks to me with the rocks fitted, as he was keeping the softer springs for his new setup.  I didn't click at the time but of course that was to let me know the shock/spring wouldn't be matched.  I also remember pricing up new springs around 2014-15, but, house, money etc. it never happened. So that was another reason to have them rebuilt. I have rebuilt the forks on many motorcycles so I think I could handle the seals on these easily enough, but getting the valving right would be a rabbit hole I cbf exploring.  Duncan, interesting to hear RP was tuning these back then. I might give them a call.  In the mean time I have been busy fitting sway bars. The Whiteline rear sway bar I purchased 15 years ago finally got fitted, along with the Whiteline front bar that showed up last week. Just waiting on new links for the front sway bar to finish that off.  And my spare set of advan AVS VS5's should be back from the powder coaters in a Pearl White finish sometime this week, with a set of Hankook RS4's lined up for fitting.  And then I just have all the suspension bushes to do. A comprehensive kit is on the way... Lots to do before the Ararat hill climb. Cheers guys 🍻
